  • Peaceful/Unplugged from everything

"We loved out getaway weekend to Scout's Hideaway! It was the most peaceful/relaxing trip we may have every been on. There was no noise just the sound of fish jumping in the water. The cabin was so nice and cozy. We loved the decor and the open concept with the kitchen. The owners were so fast to respond via text/emails and were so helpful in making us feel right at home. We definately want to come back and bring our son next time :)"

  • Beautiful Comfortable house, with great view of the lake

"We had a wonderful time. This is our second time renting this house for our Writers Retreat. The house is more than big enough for the ten of us. There is plenty of space for writing and workshops. The kitchen is fully loaded and a joy to cook in. We would definitely do it again!"

  • Time slowed down

"We all noticed how it seemed that time slowed down while we were at Family Paradise. Isn't that what everyone wants in this hustle and bustle world we live in? We had plenty of time each day to enjoy all of the activities and each other. From the time we booked this property, Shannon was available to help with any questions we might have about our stay. We found the property easily with the directions we received and were very happy with the interior of the house. It was neat, clean, and offered everything we needed for a relaxing family weekend. We swam, kayaked, fished and ate constantly. The hit, of course, was the water slide on the swim dock. The children could never get enough of that and the parents had to give it a try too. The children also enjoyed the trampoline, but the water slide.....well, there was no comparison. The water was down some at this time of the year, but as the house is located on deep water that was not a problem for swimming, diving, and sliding from the swim dock. This is a rock shoreline so I believe that a swim from the shore when the water is up would be a step into immediate deep water. That sounds like fun to me. Shannon had explained that we could launch nearby and boat in but our crew determined to carry the kayaks and paddle board down the dock ramp. That was a bit of work for the guys but then we were able to keep the boats in the water or set them up on the dock at night. The house is on a quiet cove so we felt like we had complete privacy and safety for the swimming children. All in all, this was an enjoyable stay and I do recommend it for groups or families. One note for those with really young children (we had a 2, 3, and 6 year old with us) the stairs inside going to the lower level seemed a bit steep so we had our 2 and 3 year olds scoot down on their bottoms which is a good idea for that age group anyway."

  • Perfect Getaway

"This place was absolutely amazing! It fit our group of 6 people easy and everyone was comfortable! The kitchen had everything you needed even seasonings for cooking. It was stocked with all the sheets towels pots pans utensils etc.. The grocery store was only 10-15 minutes away and that made it very easy to go and get food. It was very peaceful. The boat dock was ground level so NO STAIRS. The dock was great for laying out and swimming we stayed out there all day! It was the perfect place to get away and bond with your family or friends. We will definitely be booking this place again and making it an every summer thing! We enjoyed every minute!"
