  • Big, comfortable, excellent kitchen

"This large split level is close to attractions in Anchorage, not the least of which is the excellent, paved, waking/running/hiking biking trail that so wonderfully winds throughout this lovely city. Out the front door, turn right and in one block, you're there. We made use of this multiple times, and also took the baby in her stroller. The kitchen is outstanding; convenient, quite well stocked, with labeled shelves and cupboards. We are an extended family of 14, from 19 months old to 72 years. We used the generous deck and the large dining table. There was space for lounging teen-agers and others. Three bathrooms saw full use. We used this as a convenient base to visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center, the Alaska Museum, and downtown for shopping."

  • Cozy, Secluded, Quality Cabin

"We loved our stay in this lovely cabin. It offered everything we needed to meet our needs. We appreciated the quality finishes, the serenity, and the beautiful wooded views. Owners were kind enough to allow us to see their sled dogs which we really loved. This made a great base for our stay in Cooper Landing at a very reasonable price. As a bonus, Evelyn Bear is a great photographer and took some beautiful family photos for us. This was an inexpensive purchase, but yielded priceless photos that we will enjoy for years to come! I can't say enough about what a great stay we had here."

  • Lovely place to stay! Quiet and comfortable.

"We (me, husband, 2 girls (16 & 12) stayed in this condo for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. It had plenty of room for us and was comfortable. It was so nice to have a kitchen with plenty of cookware and dishes (and a few spices!) and also a washer & dryer. The view from the deck is really nice, and the condo complex was quiet, which we appreciated. Very easy to get to local places from the condo. Upon securing this rental, we were given helpful instructions on where to stop for groceries before coming into the town of Girdwood. Really appreciated that. The only thing we wish we could've changed was the temperature on the hot tub. It was really hot (104), and we would've liked to have lowered it a few degrees so we could sit and enjoy it for a longer period of time. However, there were instructions not to change the temperature, so we didn't. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Girdwood! Tip: While in Girdwood, book a helicopter tour with Alpine Air. We did the 90 minute glacier landing tour and it was worth every penny. (Very expensive, but it was one of the favorite things we did.) A great introduction to the amazing beauty of Alaska!"

  • Best location, but condo needs upgrades

"#7 - Location was absolutely perfect! Condo was clean and owners most congenial. Three floors was manageable and harbor activity so interesting. Loved watching cruise ships come and go. However, condo is definitely showing its' age with warped interior doors, tattered bed linens, and poor security measures. I would definitely return, but I would bring along some door locks to feel really safe. (The freezer in the garage was a big benefit for the fish boxes, but it needed cleaning). So, yes, we would definitely return, just with lower expectations. We had great weather and great fishing!"
