Lovely House, beware of volume!
"We had a great weekend in Palm Springs for our dear friends bachlorette party! There are a couple of pros and cons for this house that are important to note before renting.
-The size of this home is huge!!! Great for accommodating large groups.
-The master suite is so massive!! It's quite impressive.
-4 bathrooms which makes getting ready for an evening out easy.
-Great kitchen with lots of cooking tools
-Keurig!! They even provide K-Cups.
-The pool and hot tub are both large and wonderful.
-Lots of easy parking!
-Close to town
-Outdoor lounging chairs and sitting area is lovely.
-A la cart amenities i.e.: bicycles, roll away, pool heating, etc.
-The AC is PERFECT for the hot Palm Springs air.
-The wear and tear of this house is really noticeable. Ex: The dining room table has big splotches on it, stains on the couch cushions, SO many lights out from the pool to outdoors to the overhead lights above the stove, ice maker is broken, finger prints and cracked paint on walls, etc.
-Cleaners come to the house prior to your arrival, but it wasn't actually all that clean. There were mushed strawberries on the walls, hair clips from previous renters in the shower, and crumbs in the sheets. Little things, but hey, we were shelling out for this place.
- BE WARNED!!! The property manager informed us that there is a ZERO noise policy after 10pm. He said the neighbors behind the property will call the cops for noise and that the city would fine us $500. He repeatedly told us this and made us aware of how nervous he was leaving the house to us. We are responsible respectful 30 somethings and it felt a little like we were being punished for past renters mistakes. The scare tactics didn't exactly make us feel welcome. The noise concerns should also be listed up front so renters are aware.
-Our first evening in the house we had a few questions (only half of the backyard lights would turn on). When we called the manager to see if we were missing something his first response was "What did you break?" and when we explained that it was too dark and we couldn't figure out all of the switches his response was "Stop touching things". Again, we had to wonder if we were actually welcome in this house we were paying a couple grand to rent.
All in all, we really did have a great weekend and the cons didn't change how special our bride felt. I think it's important to have all of the information prior to renting so that you know what you're walking into"
