  • Great place to spend a few days

"My wife and 4 kids all had a great stay at Joe's place. Quiet location off of the #9 fairway. Not too far to Yosemite, golf course was enjoyable, and the beach area at community lake was fun. You can rent paddle boats, kayaks, canoes from marina for $25/hour. Also, just a short walk to neighborhood pool from the house. We didn't go, but think we could have as a guest of Joe's. Short drive to Groveland restaurants and grocery store. The drive from the community gated entrance to the house was adventuresome, but if you follow Joe's directions, you'll get there. I only gave a 4-star rating because the upstairs stayed warm with the A/C set at owner's directed 78 degrees setting, and the Pole Position arcade game was inop. I was really looking forward to remastering the game."

  • Rustic Cabin near Mariposa

"We spent 3 days here and enjoyed the convenience to restaurants in Mariposa (and the AMAZING food at the Yosemite Bug Hostel in Midpines). Our 2 year old son loved playing Foosball and the fun vintage toys in the toy chest upstairs. Having our own space to spread out and our own kitchen to use was definitely preferable to staying in a hotel. The downstairs king bed was indulgently comfortable, and the collection of true adventure books greatly added to my reading list. The drive to Yosemite (45 minutes to gate, but 1 hr 15 minutes to most places in the valley) was quite doable, but with a small child, I wish we had stayed closer. Also disappointing was that this was advertised as a 2 bedroom, but was actually 1 bedroom with a loft room (no door). Not a big deal for most people, but we had to be really quiet when putting our toddler to bed since there was no door to block the noise. Finally there was a lot of brush in the yard due to dead pine trees, so there wasn't a lot of room for playing outside (owner did advise us about this prior to check-in). We ended up playing at Mariposa and Midpines playgrounds which were close by. Thanks for letting us stay!"

  • Fantastic vacation cabin!

"I can't say enough about the Lower Meadow Cabin in the foothills of Mariposa that my wife and I stayed in. The property was clean and exactly as described online. Alaina was very helpful and maintained excellent communication with us. We had no problems with utilizing the available amenities (wifi, kitchen, bedrooms, heaters) and there is a binder when you walk in that has all of the info you need. We took a few day trips to Yosemite which wasn't too far away and it was nice to come back to the cabin after a day in the snow at the park. We found good eating in town at the Sugar Pine Cafe and I also recommend the Miner's Roadhouse 140 restaurant. We took a moment to shop in town at Past and Present Mercantiles (small consignment-style shop) which has a little of everything you might enjoy. We would definitely stay here again!"

  • Lovely Home

"We had a wonderful family vacation in this home. The kitchen was very well equipped. We had a large # of grandkids with us and the had plenty of room to play and sleep. The AC in the master bedroom was a real plus. There are a lot of stairs but we needed the exercise after enjoying so many great meals! The dock was very nice and the bay was wonderful for swimming. We would definitely recommend this property for a large family."
