  • Much needed getaway!

"My husband and I had a great stay at Driftwood with our two little girls. There was a spacious front and backyard for the kids to play in. The owner was easy to work with and made it a breeze. Everything in the home was easy to find and well labeled. The water filter in the kitchen was a bonus, as we did not need bottled water during our visit. The girls loved the rope swing and tetherball in the front yard. There was plenty for them to do at the house without bringing anything from home. Although the caretaker lives on the property we never saw her once so it felt very private. We only did the trip to the beach once as the walk was pretty long, and the climb over the driftwood to get the beach itself was a bit much for us. With that said the beaches in the area were really fun as there is a ton of driftwood on every beach in the area, and our kids had a blast building at every beach we explored during our visit. We went to Manchester Beach, Irish Beach, the Point Arena lighthouse, and some other places with coastal access. We checked out the towns in both directions. We did laundry once at the Wash House in Anchor Bay. Our favorite spot for dinner was Bridget Dolan's Pub in Elk. The Elk Store makes great sandwiches, and we did a few picnics with those. The breakfast we had at Circa 62 in Little River was well worth the drive. We went into Fort Bragg and had fish and chips and chowder at Sea Pal Cove. Manchester seems to have more fog that some of the surrounding areas, but we had a great time staying here. Although we prefer a property with easier/closer beach access, I have to say the view from the property was amazing. Overall, a wonderful vacation house that I would definitely recommend to others.."

  • Upgraded floors, downgraded cleanliness.

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here 2 years ago and found the property in better repair then than this visit. Nice to see the floors replaced but over all the property seems a bit run down. Weeds in the drive, paint chipping on the deck broken outdoor chairs and stained carpet.. The cleanliness was also not at good as before. I had to clean the glass at the front door from something splashed on it. There was a chuck of glass in the front bathroom tub and dead flies on the window ledges. The trash area had rotting fish on the roof and the trash can was nearly full."

  • Just what the dr ordered

"This place was just what we needed-peaceful, serene and away from it all. It is just a few minutes to town, but you wouldn't know it from the stillness of the forest. I loved waking up in the morning with a beautiful view from the window. Everything we needed was there. We would have loved to stay longer. We hope to return. Thank you!!"
