  • Love this Place!

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second time at the Carter house. My husband and I love it! It is a beautiful 1 bedroom house with a VERY large master bedroom. The living area is my favorite place: a large bank of windoews with a very comfortable window seat overlooking a meadow where you often see deer and a view of the ocean."

  • Amazing Wedding venue!

"We were lucky enough to have our wedding at Spring Ranch this May. It was the ideal location to have all of our wedding festivities. We had the whole property for the weekend, including the Victorian house, the Honeymoon suite and the event barn. It was all wonderful. The house held our family and friends perfectly - we had 8 adults and 2 kids sleeping there. It had everything they needed for a comfortable stay, and more. The Honeymoon suite was also incredibly lovely. Very comfortable and cozy for the couple. It was also an ideal spot for the bride to get ready. Again, had everything that we need and lots of little touches that contributed greatly to our weekend. The event barn was also perfect. It was really easy to work with the owners, our event planner and the rental company to make sure that everything was set and ready to go for the big days (we held our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception all on the property). It was beautiful, comfortable and fun. Being able to bring lots of our own decorations and alcohol was also a huge plus, and saved us a good deal of money. We would highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a wedding venue. We found it was a great combination of natural beauty, comfort, and convenience. The owners are great to work with. And many of guests told us ours was one of the best weddings they had ever been to!"

  • Oceanfront in March

"I would actually give 4 1/2 stars. Together with another couple, we visited this home for 6 days in March. Our stay included warm sunny days and a scary hurricane-like storm. This home is an amazing place to be, in either situation. The views are stunning. The waves pounded nonstop. Lighthouse beacon swirled through our bedroom at night. It was a very special place to be. Downside: we did have to battle ants in the kitchen and went out to buy some ant spray, as there was none in the house. The other kitchen issue was the complete disarray of items in the drawers and some of the cupboards, which resulted in lots of hunting around for needed utensils or containers. I would think the maids or cleaning crew could make some sense of the kitchen chaos. We have stayed in other places where everything had a labeled place, and were much more organized in the kitchen. We enjoyed the pool table during the storm, and thankfully the power didn't go out. Fireplace kept us warm and cozy. I was able to fly my kite on the bluff on the sunny days, a nice breeze was just right. Our friends said the downstairs bed was good for them. We found the upstairs bed to be quite hard; it could have used a foam topper! This home is in a lovely neighborhood and close to both Mendocino Village and Fort Bragg. Owner was very easy to work with and we extended our stay for an extra day without any trouble."

  • Beautiful, Rejuvenating Retreat

"We loved Caspar Cottage! It was the perfect getaway from our hectic, urban lives. Dianne and Bob obviously love their cottage and want the guests to love it too. And they succeed. All the personal, detailed touches, such as cottage design and thoughtful decorations, fresh cut flowers, fresh fruit, good bread, coffee, etc., make the cottage inviting, as soon as you walk in the door. It is everything that the ads and reviews say it is. And Dianne and Bob were a delight to talk with. Though we were busy exploring what Caspar, Mendocino and Ft. Bragg had to offer; kayaking in ocean caves, walking to the water fall through the forest, perusing art galleries, the glass museum, the tattoo museum, and eating great food at the local restaurants, we appreciated having the lovely, private, and rejuvenating cabin to return to. We highly recommend it."
