  • Sweet serenity!

"Marigold cottage was comfortable, very sweet, quiet and clean. It is surrounded by a stunning garden that was bursting with flowers. We enjoyed staying in the heart of the village, hopped across the street to a play and concert, strolled the headlands and walked to local restaurants for dinner. Biking and kayaking along the Big River, a trip highlight for us, were less than a mile away. And groceries, restaurants and shops are all within a few short blocks. Our host, Zelda, was extremely hospitable, friendly and kind."

  • Incredibly Peaceful

"We loved staying here! The home is located about a mile from beach access, and 10 minutes from Ft. Bragg. It was perfect! We had a great time staying in the loft. It was ideally located, the perfect size, absolutely beautiful, and had spectactular outside views. I am sure that when I come back to the area I will seek out this same property."

  • Conveniently Remote!

"Exactly as advertised....maybe better! First of all, Diane was an awesome hostess. As others have shared, she does a great job making you feel at home with a nicely appointed cottage and fresh flowers. The supplied coffee, bread, jam and fruit make for a nice, light breakfast before heading out to explore the beaches, rivers, hiking trails or wineries. Her husband Bob did a magnificent job building the cottage which is warm, cozy, contemporary and full of light due to some oversized windows in every room. Tiny house living at its finest! The cottage sits on 5 acres of property shared with the homeowners. Normally, being on the same property as the owners is not something that we would opt to do. But, Diane and Bob definitely give you your space. Besides a nice welcome when we arrived and tour of their garden right before we left, we really didn't see them. Yet, we had the security of knowing they were right there if we needed them for help with the appliances, fireplace, internet, etc. If you haven't been to Mendencino before, you will love this little coastal town. The cottage is only about .25 mile from access to a "locals only" trailhead that syncs up with the Russian Gulch State Park waterfall trail. At about 2 1/2 miles round-trip, it is definitely worth the walk/hike. The cottage also sits a couple of miles north of Mendencino and south of Fort Bragg. Caspar Cottage was the perfect getaway for a romantic weekend with nice blend of adventure and relaxation. If we were to come back to this area, we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Thank you Diane and Bob for creating such a beautiful space and sharing it with others!"

  • Perfect Getaway

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved out stay at Chapman Point Cottage and would definitely stay here again. A charming place, beautifully appointed with a great kitchen for cooking. The hosts thought of everything and the location was perfectly situated close enough to town but far enough to feel like you were in the woods."
