  • Wonderful stay for a large group!

"We rented this house for an annual writers' retreat and it was perfect. 9 - 10 people attended for a week, only two of them a couple, and everyone had plenty of room to spread out. It never felt crowded. The house is in a neighborhood, but still feels secluded and peaceful. Many of us loved walking into Russia Gulch SP with morning coffee. The open plan of the kitchen and living room is great for entertaining. Kitchen was well stocked, the beds comfortable, and we had everything we could have wanted. In particular, Kim was great to work with. We ran into a few problems with the water pump, and Kim responded right away. While out of town herself, she coordinated with her fantastic property manager/crew to get things squared away in short order. I highly recommend this property. Would definitely stay here again."

  • LOVED it!

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I (and our pup) came to Mendocino for the first time for a romantic mid-week getaway. Chapman Point Cottage was everything we wanted... spacious, relatively private, and beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation!"

  • Oceanfront in March

"I would actually give 4 1/2 stars. Together with another couple, we visited this home for 6 days in March. Our stay included warm sunny days and a scary hurricane-like storm. This home is an amazing place to be, in either situation. The views are stunning. The waves pounded nonstop. Lighthouse beacon swirled through our bedroom at night. It was a very special place to be. Downside: we did have to battle ants in the kitchen and went out to buy some ant spray, as there was none in the house. The other kitchen issue was the complete disarray of items in the drawers and some of the cupboards, which resulted in lots of hunting around for needed utensils or containers. I would think the maids or cleaning crew could make some sense of the kitchen chaos. We have stayed in other places where everything had a labeled place, and were much more organized in the kitchen. We enjoyed the pool table during the storm, and thankfully the power didn't go out. Fireplace kept us warm and cozy. I was able to fly my kite on the bluff on the sunny days, a nice breeze was just right. Our friends said the downstairs bed was good for them. We found the upstairs bed to be quite hard; it could have used a foam topper! This home is in a lovely neighborhood and close to both Mendocino Village and Fort Bragg. Owner was very easy to work with and we extended our stay for an extra day without any trouble."
