  • Awesome location with privacy on the bay!

"My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful and charming vacation home! We spent a lot of our time enjoying the bay which is just steps away from the property. The front patio deck was wonderful for morning coffee, family dinners, and evening cocktails. The kitchen was fully stocked and functional. The beds were comfortable as was the entire home. If there was one negative, it is that the upstairs bedroom above the garage and the upstairs unit would get pretty warm. I would suggest installing ceiling fans in the rooms as portable fans were not sufficient, which made for a couple of warm nights. Other than that, this house is a gem. It's tucked away in a wonderful location and offers privacy that is hard to come by in this area. I would definitely stay here again and look forward to booking next summer's stay."

  • Location Location Location!

"This is a great location right on an exciting part of the San Diego beach. You're almost directly across from 2 flights of stairs to the beach, or a block north of Crystal Pier where anyone can catch a ray or shark without a license for just $10 rental. Mark was great at communication and worked around lost keys by having the cleaner let me in. The building is showing some age but the unit is well furnished. The closet has a bunch of beach accessories. That part of the beach has a lot of surf and you either have to like surfing, or diving in waves, or you can just enjoy the sand. The water is warm enough to swim in for awhile. The pool is refreshing after the beach. The hot tub is tiny - just 3 people, but at least they have one. The parking is crazy so the one spot provided is like gold. Just a block away is good pizza, mexican, seafood, etc. Bike rentals are available. The beach is mostly younger people but everyone will feel comfortable and safe. Lifeguards keep the beach well run. It was a short drive to all the San Diego attractions - SeaWorld, Balboa Park Museums, Belmont Park. Scripps Aquarium. I recommend getting the Go San Diego card. Costco gives you an extra day for free. If you visit Legoland I left a souvenir cup you can get $1 refills, and I recommend buying the same at SeaWorld."

  • Great Proximity to the Beach and Bay

"We chose this location for a family vacation (6 adults and 2 children) and were very happy with the proximity to the beach and the bay. The pros were: The kitchen is spacious and is fully stocked with everything that you could need; the cupboards had spices, sugar, and salt/pepper The grill was wonderful and gave us a night off in the kitchen The view of the bay from the kitchen and outdoor balcony was great--loved watching the nightly fireworks from there! We loved the boogie boards, umbrellas, coolers, and beach chairs. They made the beach experience so much better! The beach and bay are super clean and are not packed with people The bedrooms were spacious and the two masters with the attached bathrooms were perfect. The downstairs bedrooms were great for the kids/parents (the 6 year old loved the loft that she could access from the stairs) Ralphs (grocery store) is in walking distance and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The Catamaran hotel is up the road which offers weekend brunch, a luau, and a great happy hour Major attractions such as Balboa Park, Sea World, Petco Park, etc…are in easy driving distance The cons were: Parking is very tight in the area and be aware that the compact car fitting into the garage needs to be very compact. We ended up parking one of the three cars at the CVS up the road which is $40 per 24 hours--no biggie but just something to keep in mind There is no air conditioning in the house. We were told by locals that this is not usually an issue but there was 75-80% humidity while we there so the house got pretty muggy The homes are built right next to each other so if you have noisy neighbors the sound carries. Fortunately, we only had two bad nights—the Saturday we arrived and the Friday before we left There are no TVs in the downstairs sleeping rooms. It would a great addition in at least one of the rooms. Overall, we were very happy with the house and the experience—thank you!"
