  • Great family friendly getaway in Napa

"We had a great time on Harvard Lane in a quiet Napa neighborhood. Everything was clean and nice and the living-room/kitchen area was great for kids and adults alike. We would happily come back."

  • Rustic beauty by the water

"Poet's loft is very lovely, rustic home, on the water. If you are looking for a serene, comfortable and relaxing stay, you will have found it. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped for cooking, the hot tub was excellent, and our favorite place was sitting by the windows overlooking the bay. Nature was all around us. I wish I had brought my iPod because I could have listened to my own music, but the system they have is great. If you are older, the stairs and step-in bath tub may be a little uncomfortable, but we found them doable and not a problem. By the way, check out the hours of Tomales Bay oysters and Hog Island oysters, but, this is where to buy fresh oysters! Tomales Bay, Marshall and Pt Reyes are California jewels!"

  • Much more a home than a rental...

"Our extended family - grandparents, parents, young children, and a dog - enjoyed a perfect Christmas week in this wonderfully located Stinson Beach house. The kitchen and adjoining great room with its views to the ocean and fireplace was spacious and comfortably furnished enough for everyone to find a nook to read, play games, do jigsaw puzzles, snack at the large dining room table, or nap in the sun. The entertainment room downstairs kept all the AV distractions sequestered but, with its virtually wall-to-wall sofas, large enough for everyone to stretch out and see a movie together. The kitchen was liberally equipped enough to make preparing meals for this gang a real pleasure, and, of course, the beach and the fenced yard was ideal for hours of walks and playtime with the dog. Put it this way - we managed all the Christmas rituals without a tear from any of the grandchildren or visible signs of stress from their parents, and I'd give the house a large measure of the credit. We'll be back."

  • Best of Both Worlds

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Valley View home. We arrived during a chilly November rain and, having forgotten to bring umbrellas, were pleased to pull into a carport and get all our luggage into the house protected by an overhang all the way to the front door. We walked in and immediately saw the beautiful round deck and breathtaking view of a redwood forest. We both said WOW as we opened the door. The design of the house is so clever, taking full advantage of the amazing valley view and creating a comfortable living arrangement. The kitchen in the round is especially interesting architecturally. The house was clean and spacious and the heating system warmed it up very quickly. We spent the next several days relaxing in the mornings with our coffee and tea and having a soak in the hot tub (after the first day, we had great weather), then going off to explore. There are several beautiful beaches just a short drive away, and we drove to Half Moon Bay one day along scenic route 1 which only took 1 hour each way. There are some good restaurants in Scotts Valley, and some great ones in Santa Cruz and Capitola. Both Santa Cruz and Capitola are fun towns for exploring and shopping. The property manager for Valley View was available by phone when we had a question, though once we got settled there was no need to call. It was the best of both worlds - a quiet, private, cozy home in the redwood forest and a short drive from everything we needed and fun things to do. We've stayed in several VRBOs and this was, by far, our favorite and most special so far. Perfect for a romantic getaway. We hope to be back."
