  • Excellent Choice!

"We recently returned from our trip to San Francisco and we could not have been happier with the accommodation provided by Jay the owner. The location was perfect for us, during the day we would venture into the city to see the "touristy" sites as well as some of the lesser known things to do and see. At the end of the day we would return to a nice quiet, safe location and fall asleep to barely a sound from outdoors..perhaps the odd car on the street but the hustle and bustle of downtown is just far enough away to allow you to decompress after alot of walking. The apartment is in a very hip area of SF, the Mission District is only minutes away on foot, the Castro is the same only in the opposite direction. Delores Park is just up the hill (everything in SF is up a hill, so bring good comfortable shoes like runners or proper walking shoes), Delores Park was a nice area to chill out in the evening and it seems all the young people from the area gather there to drink wine, play frisbee and see the city from one of the best vantage points in the entire city. There is a market in the same building and we were able to pick up any provisions we needed during our stay. For a big grocery order there is a Whole Foods about a 5-10 minute walk away, and a Safeway about a 20 minute walk away or easily stopped at by the transit system. The transit stops are very handy to the apartment as well, the F train (or maybe the J train) stops just at the top of the hill from the apartment (maybe 3 minutes on foot). This train will take you directly downtown where you can easily grab another part of the transit system to go virtually anywhere you need to go. There is also the BART system that is about a 15 minute walk down along the Mission District that will take you quickly either downtown or to the airport. We did use Uber a few times until we became familiar with the transit systems then we only took trains, cable cars or the BART to go anywhere. The bus system also works very well, we took the bus into Haight & Ashbury which only took about 15 minutes. Jay keeps this apartment immaculate and it is decorated in a cool hip retro kind of way, very funky and fun to come back to. I wish we had more time to enjoy his upstairs patio. This is not a party place, it is in a nice upscale area and well looked after. Jay was a wonderful host and provided plenty of tips and advice for getting around the city. We would definitely return without hesitation."

  • Our best apartment rental.

"We are just finishing our first stay at David’s house, and I can’t say enough about how pleasurable this month has been. We’ve rented apartments in a variety of locations, and his place tops them all. The furnishings are of amazing quality – no leftover odds and ends here. I use a Cuisinart coffee maker in the morning! The art in the house is astounding, so many quality canvases, prints, photos. We spend a fair amount of our inside time just appreciating them. For a one-bedroom house, the space is amazing, a full kitchen, family room, formal living and dining rooms, thick soft carpets everywhere, it’s truly remarkable. The garden in back is great. It’s well-tended, and sitting out there with a beer at the end of a day of touring is perfect. There is a new, huge Lucky’s supermarket literally a block away – and it’s a flat walk, no hills! Three of our favorite places to eat and drink are just across the street from the market, and the lovely Panhandle is a mere three blocks away. We have great memories now of sunny walks among the giant eucalyptus. We’re not in the heart of “old” San Francisco, and we personally find that to be a plus. It’s wonderful to be able to enjoy that area sometimes, and then to come home to a quiet, lovely residential area. We are bus people, and the buses in this area are incredibly convenient. The Ferry Building is 15-20 minutes away by bus, another whisks you right to the center of the beautiful Presidio, four or five others move you to Fisherman’s Wharf, Nob Hill, the Castro and Noe Valley, on and on. David is impressively attentive to any issue you may have and responds almost always the same day to emails. He has a handyman on call, there are cleaners that show up every two weeks, very clear instruction notebooks strategically placed around the house. Communicating with him has been an ongoing pleasure. Too good to be true? How sincere is this evaluation? We’ve already booked the house for next year!"

  • Very nice spot

"We stayed here for a month's vacation in early 2016, without a car. We took full advantage of the nearby bus stops and the City's outstanding public transit system to explore San Francisco widely. The apartment is in a quiet and safe neighborhood. It's very sweet and clean, fully equipped with everything you might need for a home-away-from-home, and many added thoughtful touches. The house backs onto Coronado Heights Park, a sweet little neighborhood green spot, with easy short trails to spectacular views - and a great dog run for the neighborhood dog walkers. If you are a dog person, you will love watching them play in the large fenced off area within the park. The Randall Museum in the Park was closed for renovation while we were there unfortunately, look forward to a return visit after it re-opens. The area is hilly, but that's San Francisco. Landlord Guillermo was easy to contact and most accommodating. I'm sure we'll be back."
