  • Divine Decadence!

"My best friend and I arrived late on a Friday evening after travelling from Greensboro and Atlanta to visit her daughter. We stepped into the common area lit by a candle and walked to our door serenaded by the sound of a fountain surrounded by asparagus ferns. The apartment felt as if we had stepped onto the pages of House Beautiful. The huge kitchen island anchors the space as one gazes out the back wall of french doors and huge picture window onto a formal garden lit up with twinkling lights. White leather sofas and black leather swivel chairs provide ample seating in either of the two living areas. A plate of home-baked chocolate chip cookies baked by Eugene upstairs was a delicious way to end our long day. The beds have feather mattress toppers which make for a luxurious night's sleep. The refrigerator was stocked for everything we needed for breakfast in the morning. We prepared eggs (on the Bosch gas stove) with toasted English muffins, coffee, and hot tea, all provided by the owners. We are all ACC fans and the basketball tournament was on, so we had no problem locating a few sports bars very near. Union and Fillmore are filled with shops and restaurants within a few blocks of the apartment. Our favorite was Rose's Cafe and try to snag an outdoor table if the weather is nice. Another favorite was Pacific Puffs for their cream puffs. The neighborhood is a delight to safely wander in as there are many beautiful homes with lovely views of the bay. While in San Francisco, we used Lyft to get to such places as the Palace of Fine Arts, Legion of Honor (Monet exhibition), Haight-Ashbury, and the Castro district. And we also did a lot of walking! The cars were never more than 2 minutes away and very reasonably priced. The highlight of our stay was an invitation to have dinner with Eugene upstairs. His 3rd floor view was stunning and his apartment felt as if one were in a page from Architectural Digest. He opened a bottle of champagne and we sat at his marble counter in the kitchen as he cooked. We had an elegant dinner in his sumptuous dining room, surrounded by hand-painted walls lit by long tapers in silver candlesticks. C'est magnifique!"

  • cozy stay

"My husband and I were in the middle of moving out of San Francisco after 30 years so we set up a series of temporary apartments. We stayed at Clay street for 2 months and found it to be cozy and peaceful. The windows overlook a lovely garden plus there is a small deck outside to sit and enjoy the bird songs. The studio has a full kitchen and is fairly well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. Overall, it is very comfortable and functional, plus close to bus lines that criss-cross the city, allowing easy access to Ocean Beach, the Presidio, Marina Green or downtown. Lots of restaurants around the corner on Fillmore and Mollie Stones only 2 blocks away. Plus Alta Plaza Park is at the corner and offers gorgeous views plus lots of dogs to pet!"
