  • Beautiful View

"This unit is located in a secluded area with a fantastic view of Mt. Shasta from the living room, master bedroom and the deck. We stayed in August and the weather was very hot during the day but cooled off nicely at night. The unit has 2 portable a/c units that struggle to keep up in the afternoons. I cleaned the filters (one unit was especially dirty) to improve their efficiency but they still struggled. More and better solar window shading will help reduce the heat build up. The kitchen was adequate but did blow a fuse using the microwave and toaster at the same time. Finding the breaker box was a challenge and instructions in this event would have been helpful. There were rechargeable flashlights throughout the house but none worked (time to replace). The biggest drawback for us were the daily mouse droppings in the kitchen and my wife HATES mice. Overall we had a nice visit to the area."

  • What a Wonderful Relaxing Getaway

"I rented this beautiful cabin for myself, daughter and granddaughter to just relax in for 3 night. We had a wonderful stay. She brought her dog who loved the area too. Mona and Ken were amazing hosts. They had a crib ready for our arrival. The place was clean and had an amazing view of the river. We enjoyed just hanging on the grass watching the sun pass over us thru the trees. It was so relaxing. They had menus of special restaurants to visit, but we just wanted to cook in the cabin and enjoy all the quietness the area had to offer. They are just feet away from a train that passes by from time to time. It is loud, but I actually found that enjoyable. I would run my 14 month old granddaughter out to wave at the train, and the engineer waved back. It was really special and I'm sure she will have that memory embedded someplace in that head to reflect upon in years to come. We visited the town of Mt. Shasta for lunch and strolling the main street for their fair. Wonderful people who are just happy to be together. We will be back and I'll bring more of the family. Thank you Mona and Ken. We look forward to seeing you again very soon."

  • Wonderful tranquil cabin

"Great (and I mean huge) cabin in the woods, clean, well equipped, serene. Loved to watch the quietly falling snow on the trees from inside, and the heated floor!"

  • home away from home

"The old mill house is an ideal location as a home base for your outdoor adventures. The home has such a great family history to it, that you can't help but feel like you are a part of the family. The immediate surroundings offer golfing, fishing, hiking, and kayaking. It is a fun home to stay at, and once you do, you will most certainly be counting the days until you can come back!"
