  • Relaxing Get-Away

"My husband and I enjoyed our stay at your cottage. It's very cute and comfortable. It was nice to have such a well equipped home, having everything we needed. We were a little bummed that there wasn't a fireplace or wood burning stove. Surprising for a mountain home, but I guess I missed that in the details. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck (in between the rain) and listening to Bailey Creek. The smell of the rain in the woods is amazing!! Thank you for the fresh baked bread! Really nice touch!"

  • Peaceful and Serene

"A wonderful spot to get away from hectic city life and only about 40 miles from Redding. We left the bedroom sliding door ajar and could hear Battle Creek rushing by. A beautiful rustic fireplace in the living room provided ample heat for the frosty nights. Beds were very comfortable and the beautiful forest could be enjoyed from all windows. A truly great weekend!"

  • Wedding Retreat

"My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay at The Manton Lodge the week prior to our wedding and on our wedding night. It was a magical time for us, BBQing with friends and family, playing horse shoes with our nephews and exploring the woods around the property with each other. We also made frequent trips into "town," to wine taste and grab last minute items at the corner store. The house it's self was everything we needed, wonderful soaking tub, large kitchen and enough bedrooms to fit the whole gang. I plan to return here as often as possible."

  • Convenient and quiet place, just the way we like

"We arrived late in the day and found the place very cosy and welcoming. Plenty of couches and sitting areas, great kitchen area with open space. The feeling of being in a log cabin was very pleasing. Showers, bathrooms, and other amenities, and the rest of the cabin were clean and pleasing. We recommend the cabin near Shingletown. Don"
