  • Beautiful mountain vistas, fishing, hiking, relaxing

"I can speak for my entire family and say our stay at Alpine Cabin could not have been any better! Our group ranged in age from upper 60's down to age 2. The two spacious living spaces worked very well for us. The baby went to bed downstairs earlier than the adults who played cards or set on the deck watching the incredible sunsets over the mountains. We saw a bear the evening we arrived - a real treat! We've been in Colorado many times but that was a first. We fly fished Wright Lake and Chalk Creek a short distance from the cabin and feasted on our catch one evening . In addition to sight seeing and hiking we fed chipmunks at St. Elmo, attended the musical event at the park in Buena Vista, watched the rodeo kayakers, and shopped in Buena Vista and Salida. The week passed too quickly! The housekeeper keeps the cabin very clean and was kind enough to mail us a couple items we left. Next trip we'll bring our four wheelers--easy access to trails from the cabin. Should we return to the area with a big group, we'll book here again!!"

  • Modern Romantic Loft with Great Kitchen

"My girlfriend and I stayed here for just one night while on a quick trip hiking some 14ers in the Sawatch. Lots of designer touches in the space and the views, though not completely unobstructed, are really nice. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to cook and serve a great meal. It's a very quick walk to the river or the Eddyline Brewery restaurant. Enough local coffee to make a full pot in the morning!"

  • Great for a Girls 14er weekend!

"We enjoyed our stay at the Firehouse flat for a girls 14er weekend. There were a few things the property could use improvement on. The listing should read "sleeps 8-10," because there were only beds for 8 adults to comfortably sleep. Since the place was cooled with mountain air, ceiling fans in the bedrooms would be a nice addition. Also, screens on the windows would be great. The flat was ready for us earlier than expected, and we greatly appreciated that. The location was in the newer part of Buena Vista, and very nice! We enjoyed walking to the nearby shops and Eddyline Brewery. Overall, the flat was great for our group of friends."

  • 3rd Time and Planning for a 4th

"Everything that has been written before is still true. You are up 9000 ft in the wooded mountains with neighbors a comfortable distance away, yet in a cozy cabin with all the amenities of a home. This was our third visit and we feel that we have only scratched all the things we can do. The location is central to 100's of trails, summits, alpine lakes, gold panning, kayaking, rock hounding, star gazing, animal watching, fly fishing...........and Buena Vista. This year we visited Waterdog Lake which is a 1000 ft. climb over a 1.3 mile distance. The trail is well maintained and the lakes are beautiful. Give it a try."
