  • Loved how everything was so nice and clean and good quality.

"From the time we walked into this home, we knew someone who knows what they are doing decorated it. It was nice and comfortable and well equipped with anything we needed. The fireplace was beautiful. The kitchen was open and inviting to our guests. The view from the back windows was magnificent. Walking to town and to hiking trails and coffee shops was perfect. We will do this again."

  • 3rd Time and Planning for a 4th

"Everything that has been written before is still true. You are up 9000 ft in the wooded mountains with neighbors a comfortable distance away, yet in a cozy cabin with all the amenities of a home. This was our third visit and we feel that we have only scratched all the things we can do. The location is central to 100's of trails, summits, alpine lakes, gold panning, kayaking, rock hounding, star gazing, animal watching, fly fishing...........and Buena Vista. This year we visited Waterdog Lake which is a 1000 ft. climb over a 1.3 mile distance. The trail is well maintained and the lakes are beautiful. Give it a try."

  • Great in-town rental

"Very nice in-town rental. Clean and comfortable for the family. One block from the cottonwood creek duck pond and playground and just a few blocks from downtown. The Atwoods have done a great job of providing all the little creature comforts - notepads and pens, coffee and filters, soap, extra rags, etc. Truly a home away from home."

  • Fantastic getaway

"If your looking for a romantic, quiet getaway in a quaint little town, this is the place to stay. I can be rather picky when it comes to my accommodations, and this one did not disappoint. It is a small, lovely decorated, modern home. We felt more like we were staying at a friends home rather than a vacation rental. We arrived after an unexpected snow storm; the Lewis' notified us of the conditions beforehand, suggested an AWD vehicle and made sure to have the driveway to the house cleared. We had a little issue with frozen pipes the next morning, but their caretakers were very prompt in getting the issue fixed. The kitchen is nicely equipped, furniture is not worn, nice linens. The bed takes a little getting used to due to the foam pad. It was great relaxing in the hot tub with a light snow. We didn't get to take advantage of the porch and the river views due to the temp and snow, but it if I could suggest to the Lewis' some cushions for outside and request the renters to bring them in nightly. The gravel drive to the house is rather narrow in some places, no problem for a SUV, however unless you are seasoned with a trailer or camper, I wouldn't try it. Plenty of room to turn a vehicle around at the house. We would highly recommend this property for the house itself but also for the town. It is a small/friendly town (visit the Jailhouse Bar for great beer on tap and the Simple Eatery), take a hike along the Arkansas River at the end of Main Street, absolutely fantastic, especially in the snow."
