  • Spectacular home in a spectacular setting!!

"We actually stayed here last Fall also, but for some reason our review didn't get onto the site. We had virtually the same satisfaction this year as last. The owner, Denny, was very helpful and because of our late arrival, had stocked the kitchen with some items for our next morning's breakfast. He lives on the property and obviously takes pride in the house. With all of the large windows, the mountain views while overlooking the golf course, are breathtaking. The large upper and lower wrap around deck areas allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the natural beauty (and the putting green carpet, with practice holes, was a novel idea). The entire house is thoughtfully laid out and I think could be enjoyed by a large group or small. At night, the large central chimney with multiple gas fireplaces gave the rooms a cozy feel. The kitchen included high end appliances, 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers, 2 microwaves, and large separate freezer and refrigerator. Everything we wanted, and more, was there and was clean. My wife and I slept in the master suite on the main floor, which had a King bed, an attached office space to do our work (good WIFI), vaulted ceilings, large flat screen TV, a view of Mount Wilson, huge walk in closet, steam shower, Jacuzzi style tub, and 2 toilet rooms. There were 2 other King Master Suites in the lower level and 2 bedrooms and a sleeping/lounging loft on the second floor. We loved the pool table in the game room. There was also another large (50' x 12' x 12') play room with a batting/driving cage and ping pong table. There was a hot tub outside but we didn't use it. There are outdoor tennis courts 100 yards away. Because the house faces South and has the tall ceilings, the sunlight steaming in the windows and the full length row of skylights, made it very bright and cheery. There is even a full sized tree growing up the center!! North facing log homes we have stayed in were dark and depressing. We used the free Dial-A-Ride shuttle service to pick us up and take us anywhere we wanted to go. It was very convenient for those evenings when we didn't want to drink and drive or to just make a quick stop at the grocery store. In the winter it goes right to the lifts. The Gondola ride over the mountain into downtown was also very convenient. Denny has lived in Telluride for a long time and was very interesting to talk to. He knew much about the area, and it was interesting to hear his story about the building of this house."

  • Perfect choice for our family

"Our family decided to come to Telluride for Fall Break and after spending more time than I would care to admit surfing VRBO we elected to stay in Mountain Village in this condo. Admittedly, this was my first choice from the beginning but it was a little more than several other options and I didn't want to overpay without feeling comfortable that the price was justified. Turns out I should have just booked it from the beginning. Kris, the owner, is accessible, easy to deal with and has clearly put a lot of thought and love into her place. Over the course of our week staying here, I can't think of one thing that was missing or we wished she had done differently. The kitchen is well stocked with tupperware, spices, pots and pans, etc. There is even a crock pot which excited my wife despite the fact we never used it. The towels, bedding are both plentiful and of high quality. Closets and storage are so well organized we only needed a fraction of available space. We found games, movies, even plenty of pens in case you have to get some work done. This condo is a very easy place to feel completely at home. And then there is the location. The deck opens directly to a path that is 20-30 yards from the Mountain Village Gondola Station as well as a great town center with several restaurants, bars and coffee houses. The Gondolas take you everywhere you would need to go (market, parking structure and down to the Town of Telluride). Although the unit is that close to everything it is tucked just far enough behind trees that you still have privacy when in the hot tub. The decor and furnishings are very nice. I guess the best way to say this is that this condo is furnished for living not for renting. Even my 10 year old son made a point to be careful because the place was so nice. If you are looking for a place this size, I can't imagine you will find a better option than this condo. Also, this was our first trip to Telluride. For those of you that have not been, it is breathtakingly beautiful and well worth the additional travel from Denver. Mountain Village is it's own community a few miles from "town." It is such a cool little place, we didn't actually visit the town of Telluride until our last day. Everything you want to do, including going into Telluride, is accessible via a free Gondola system. Highlights of the trip were a drive to Ouray (take the last dollar dirt road) and dinner at Allreds at the top of the mountain."

  • Wow! Best I ever stayed at.

"Can not say enough about the Fairmont Franz Klammer, truly an exceptional property combining spectacular Telluride with luxury accommodations and service excellence (from the minute you step off the plan, staff even picks you up at the airport). Meanwhile Brad and Luxury Mountain Destinations LLC were exceptional as well, offering the top rated property for SIGNIFICANTLY less than it normally goes for, highly recommend!"
