  • Nice Alternative to a Hotel

"Cheerful and very spacious studio space. Comfortable for a couple with plenty of space for child on pullout futon. Kitchenette had stove top (no oven), toaster oven, sink and full-size fridge. Dishes and very basic cookware provided (no oven-proof dish for reheating/cooking in toaster oven). Very convenient for making breakfasts, coffee/tea and storing snacks. Tea provided. Would be nice if coffee and some basic spices included. Overall, nothing fancy or luxurious, but impeccably clean and much more space than what you would get at local inns like White Hart. Note that lawn and seating area pictured on site faces the small street and owner's house. Although set back, spacious and pleasant, this is not a backyard or private yard area. Overall, very good value, quiet and pleasant. Owner very responsive."

  • A Relaxing Shoreline Vacation.

"Mary's home is lovely, clean, and comfortable! It has everything you need to whip up a delicious local seafood dinner, as well as plenty of linens, a washer and dryer, and a backyard where I ate breakfast every morning. The location is excellent for a shoreline getaway, quiet but with many nearby attractions. The Owenego Beach Club is about a half block away and offers reasonable casual waterfront dining....lobster roll anyone? There is also a lovely path along the Sound for strolling after dinner. You can walk down Linden Avenue and get to several beach options....pleasantly deserted during the week. Yes, the Thimble Islands cruise is a must.....local flavor, beautiful views. Mary's house has AC, but I was comfortable with all the windows open, enjoying the fresh breezes and scents of the nearby salt marshes, where osprey and other shore birds cavort. Mary is close by if needed, and quick to answer questions. She also provided me with a list of nearby restaurants and suggestions on seafood markets. The nearby shoreline towns are charming and worth a visit. Branford is hopping with breweries and restaurants, and do not miss my favorite shop, Taken for Granite in Stony Creek! Altogether a relaxing stay...would highly recommend!"

  • Perfect for our family vacation!

"Seven adults and six kids had a wonderful time at the Creek House. There was plenty of room for all of us and the amenities were plentiful - stocked kitchen, games, books, movies, outside toys, swingsets and anything else you could possibly need! Big boys loved the crabbing under the bridge and even the 5 year old jumped off at high tide. We enjoyed our adventures to Rocky Neck, The Dinosaur Place in New London and Brownstone Exploration and Discovery Park. In spite of the heat, we enjoyed a couple of nights around the fire pit. The kayaks got a lot of use, including a sunrise trip which produced some great photos! The house was very clean and super comfortable. The owner was very accommodating. Enjoyed the binder in the house with information on area attractions and also the one with the history of the house - quite interesting. Highly recommend - hope it's still a rental for the next time we decide to get together in CT!!!!"
