  • Idyllic, peaceful corner of CT

"We spent 8 nights at this perfectly lovely cottage and could have stayed much longer, maybe a few months. It is in the most perfect location, a large private lot right on the Housatonic River. There is lots of room to sit outdoors and admire the scenic river or stay indoors in the very comfy living area. Although it was 90 degrees most days, I was eyeing the fireplace and wishing it were colder. The bedroom was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom huge, housing a very convenient washer and dryer. Everything was very clean and in perfect working order. Kitchen was small but absolutely fully stocked. The nicest aspect of this house, other than the privacy and peacefulness, was that it was clearly a working house that someone lives in regularly with everything anyone would need to get along. We loved it to death and hope to go back, this time with our bicycles, for another week in fall or spring. It is a very beautiful corner of CT."

  • Magical Rowayton Cottage

"We have spent multiple weeks the past 3 summers in the wonderful home. It is absolutely immaculate and charming in every way. It has everything you need to relax and enjoy a home away from home. It is walking distance to the village for restaurants and shops as well as close access to the train and highway. The owner is amazingly responsive and a lovely person. We feel so lucky to be able to share this lovely home while visiting CT in the summertime. We look forward to many more summers."

  • simple, cozy house is comfy and gives a sense of ease

"For a group of gals in our mid-sixties, this was a great place for a few-day stay. We loved having meals on the deck, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, and being close to Bethel. Nice and clean and casual."

  • Highly recommend this property

"We recently stayed here for a week in July and highly recommend this property. We were seven adults and two children and there was plenty of room for all of us, with several comfortable living areas. The property was well stocked with paper goods, towels, linens, baby supplies, bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, and just about anything you could think of. East Beach was a short drive away, with no public parking available, which is actually an advantage because not many people go there. Our routine was to drop everyone including chairs, umbrellas, etc. off at the beach, drive back to leave the car at the house, and one of us would take a bike back to the beach. An alternative is Misquamicut Beach, which is nearby and has plenty of public parking. Window fans were provided in all the bedrooms, which were sufficient even though it was a hot week. Only the master bedroom has a window AC unit. The home has been meticulously maintained and cleaned. The large backyard is great for anyone with little kids, and the huge screened in porch was the go-to place for everyone in the evening. The owners are easy to reach, and they responded quickly by email to questions we had during our stay. Overall, a very satisfying vacation, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again."
