  • Simply Perfect!

"My family had the best time at Key Lime Kottage in June. Our two teenagers and two toddlers had the best time in the pool and hot tub. We enjoyed kayaking from the dock to the mangroves and watching the juvenile fish and nurse sharks, parrot fish, and horseshoe crabs wonder around the dock. The sunsets from the dock were also incredible. The house had every single amenity we could ever ask for, and that's saying a lot since our family has such a range in ages/needs. There was a pack and play, high chair, and even a potty for the little kids. The beds were very comfortable, the house was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped, the TVs were awesome, and the games in the living room were an added bonus. There were bonus memory foam pillows in the master bedroom for those who don't like the soft fluffy pillows (like me). Our kids had a lot of fun feeding the iguanas (there were at least 6 wondering around at times). We took advice from others and went to The Wreck next store for lunch and dinner, and of course the famous key lime pie. I have to say that the pie has to be the best in the World! It's a must-try. The food was also very good, and the location of the restaurant was so convenient. If we had stayed at the house the entire vacation and not done anything, we still would have had the best time! A few things we do recommend doing are taking a boat tour with Family Fun Boat Tours in Islamorada. We took a four hour private boat trip with sightseeing and snorkeling, and it was awesome. All of the kids loved it, even the 2 and 4 year old got in the ocean for a little whiile when we snorkeled. Captain Kathy also watched the little kids for a time on the boat while we snorkeled. We also went to Key West for a day and recommend going to the Hemmingway house. We went to Sombrero Beach and Bahia Honda state park. The state park was excellent for little kids and snorkeling, but arrive early to get a good spot on the tiny beach. Overall, this was one of our favorite summer vacations, especially because we stayed at Key Lime Kottage! Thanks to Maria for answering all my questions and for sharing such an amazing property with us!"

  • Home Away from Home

"We have been spending our winters here for many years. Started out 6 weeks then grew to 4 months. We Love this area and this house. From the huge deck, loft for visiting kids, air conditioned storage, steps to put in the included kayak and large dock for our boat. The house is walking distance to Pigeon Key and the historic 7 mile bridge, Sunset Grille Restaurant where they have a swimming pool, quick access to Gulf Of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. The only reason we are not renting there is because we Loved it so much we bought a neighboring house"

  • We will be back!!

"This was the second time renting from American Caribbean. It is so much easier when you deal with a professional manager in town. I used to deal with absentee owners and one time he gave us the wrong access code to get in the house. We couldn’t reach him for hours. We were sitting around waiting (with a week’s worth of groceries) for his call. This house POO is right across the street from a beautiful big beach. It was nice to go to the beach walk back across the street and go in your own in ground pool. We fished off the private dock behind the house and caught small barracudas. We would have a manatee come up by us every day. The inside of the house was very clean and comfortable. A good full working kitchen. The outside deck wraps around the house which is nice. You can sit outside and move around to stay in the sun or move around to stay out of the sun. The front porch looks out onto the beach. Even being by the beach it is still quiet and peaceful. There is a big dining room table inside and two separate areas to eat outside on the deck. One is a screen porch. We will be back!!"

  • Loved our stay on the Garden Side

"We had a very enjoyable time at the Royal Plum. Upon arrival we were able to check in on time and getting into our condo was very uncomplicated. The condo was well equipped and very clean. We loved the quietness of the garden and spent every night on the screened in patio. During our evening swim we met Kevin the grounds keeper. He was super informative and very friendly. We loved our view and the quietness of the condo complex. The pool and beach were perfect! Pool and beach toys are avaliable and even lounging chairs. Just bring your beach towel and relax. We will definitely return next year!!!"
