  • Beautiful home, well furnished, excellent location, feels like a second home!

"This was our second year driving to Destin from Texas. Destin Zen was a beautiful home, well furnished and decorated. Its owners designed a home that they would feel comfortable in and that made it all the more pleasant for our stay. The neighborhood was perfect for a family trip. Close to the beach, the part of the beach it was near was beautiful, near seadoo rentals, family friendly and clean. The part of Destin it was made everything accessible. Exactly in between the harborwalk and the outlet mall. Within a mile of destin commons and good restaurants as well. The owner's instructions were user friendly. Only feedback is to tell renters what to do with towels. We just threw them all in washer which is what other rentals typically have you do but it was not outlined in instructions."

  • Big Tuna Couples Trip

"We just got back from a wonderful vacation in Destin, FL. Big Tuna was more than accommodating for our 3 couples. We had enough extra sleeping places for at least 4! A few things of note that we did not feel were covered in the description about the place. The beach is a 10 minute walk since Big Tuna is at the opposite end of the neighborhood from the road to beach access. Once you reach the road, you've got 4-5 blocks. There is a shuttle, which you will definitely want to take. When we got there, there were ants everywhere! A lot of the food we brought were full of ants within an hour. We called maintenance and this issue was taken care of immediately. We didn't see another ant the rest of the trip. My only other advice is to take showers in turns. When everyone comes off the beach and wants to shower at the same time, we ran out of hot water most days."

  • Family Vacation

"I usually don't leave reviews but I found that when I was searching for a beach house for our vacation I read the reviews! There were 3 families staying at Beach Bound. Together we had 9 children ranging in age from 3 to 13. I wanted to give some detailed information that would help other large families make the best decision when choosing their vacation. First off let me say that we didn't start looking for a Beach house until early March and so we found that a lot were already booked for the week we were looking at. We didn't want to spend more than $5500 for the week so if you are searching for one now you know that isn't a lot of money to spend if you want to be on the beach. Pros: - The lagoon style pool was a HUGE hit with us. Also, this particular house was right near the pool. We literally walked out the front door and right into the pool area. - The trolley that takes you to the beach was a HUGE hit with the kids as well. We looked at the distance to the beach on GOOGLE satellite and it didn't look that far. But, when you are down there and walking to the beach in the HOT sun that is beating down on you and you are carrying, sand toys, kids, coolers, towels, chairs etc it is a LONG walk. However, when we called the trolley they were there pretty quickly. The only down side was they stop running at 4 and if you wanted to stay later you had to walk back. - The house was set up for multiple families and worked perfect for our situation as we had 3 families. The kids piled in on the 2nd floor living area as there was a couch and a futon that laid out. - This location was perfect. We could drive out of the community and everything was within 10 min. Cons: Again these are stupid little details that might be helpful to large families. - There was one fridge and we went to Walmart on Saturday when we arrived and when we got back with all of the week's food we had to use our larger coolers as fridges because there wasn't enough room. there is a smaller fridge upstairs but we just put drinks in it. We only bought food for breakfast and lunches as we ate dinner out. - The utensils are dated and a lot of the coffee mugs are chipped. - The beds probably need to be replaced as everyone seemed to complain every morning about their neck or back hurting. - The kitchen is pretty small so we had to take shifts in making lunches to take to the beach. - we couldn't fit 3 vehicles side by side."
