  • Perfect getaway -- with kids or without!

"Wow--what a great vacation rental! Pointe Santo is a beautiful, family friendly, old-school island complex with a clubhouse, kids' activities, movie nights, a great pool, and one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Sanibel. There are bike paths right outside the complex that will take you all over the island, and the Ding Darling reservation is right around the corner. It reminded me very much of my summers as a kid where we went back to the same set of houses with friends over and over every year--very nostalgic. And then, 46B--a penthouse unit--is just wonderful. The 4th floor view includes a nice vista of the central pond, the island, the pool, and the beach beyond. Sunset drinks on the roof deck are a must. The unit is beautifully decorated, the beds are super-comfortable, and the whimsical ships' berth bunk beds with portholes and closing shutter windows--and the fun my daughter had sleeping in them--are enough to keep us coming back for many years. Thanks for giving us such a great vacation--we loved it and would highly recommend it!"

  • Fishing Florida

"This was a good location for launching a week of fishing and kayaking in the glades. The cottage was nice and big - plenty of room for 3 occupants. It could accommodate 6 if two were sharing the king bed and 2 couches were occupied. The place was exceptionally clean and well equipped. We were not around much during the 9-5 hours so we had little to no issue with the constant buzz of the airboats during this time (they are obnoxiously loud and there are many - 40-50+). Afterhours, it was wonderfully quiet - little to no traffic in Everglades city with the grand population of 600 residents. Initial guidance to get to the location was not provided and the ph. numbers were not updated to reflect new contacts. However, with some common sense it was not difficult to sort out where the ferry was, but we had some initial trouble trying to figure out how to contact the folks running the ferry. The ferry required to travel back and forth from the island is a bit inconvenient, requiring one to call ahead to get a ride (a cellphone being a requirement here). Although prompt, it was still something I would have been happy to do without. Overall, it was a nice place to stay, but less a star for the inconvenience of the ferry and the initial trouble with directions & contact info."
