"The villa is set in a quiet neighbourhood and has one of the most picturesque back gardens in Florida. The villa is well equipped and well presented. We used the bikes to cylce the legacy trail and also used the golf clubs for a round at Calusa Lakes golf club. The large pool was also well used to cool us down after a day out. The area itself has many restaurants and eating places. We particularly like the Crow's nest down in Venice. Venice itself is a quiet town but you can amble around downtown at night. The gelato shop has really good ice cream! Sarasota and St Armands Circle are only half an hour away. The Ringling Museum in Sarasota and the Edison h House at Fort Myers are worth a visit. We also went to Myaka State Park where we went looking for 'Gators on the "worlds largest airboat" We also hired bikes and did a bit of cycling."

  • Great Place!

"This was our first visit to this area. The house was very clean, comfortable beds (very important). Great location. Greg, the owner, greeted us and was very helpful. Unfortunately, the day we arrived, red tide had hit the beaches. Greg gave us information on other beaches we might try, which was very helpful. He also gave us suggestions for restaurants, which were all good. The book he has prepared is very helpful for first time visitors to the area. We would also highly recommend Anita's for breakfast. Clean, comfortable, good food. We went to the Peace River Wildlife Center in Punta Gorda. It is a small rescue center. We were lucky to meet their star resident, Luna, the owl. It was a great ride and enjoyed seeing the work they do at the center. If we are lucky enough to go back to the Venice/Nokomis area, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you, Greg."

  • Can't beat the location

"March was a lovely time to be on the bay in Venice. The location is wonderful -- relaxing, filled with birds and an occasional dolphin siting, and plenty of outdoor space for our dog to run. The house itself, although older than other places we've stayed, is very clean and comfortable. The rooms are good-sized, closets are large, and the kitchen is well-stocked. With only two bedrooms we wondered how we would manage a 3 day stay with our son and his family, including two big teenage boys. We brought an air mattress from home that one slept on in the living room along with his younger brother who loved the fold out chair. Space was not a problem. They really enjoyed fishing from the dock. Since our return, Bryan has followed up with an email identifying minor fixes that will make future renters more comfortable. We enjoyed getting to know Bryan and his family and although he lives next door, we saw them only occasionally, providing a wonderful sense of privacy. I would heartily recommend the cottage and we are looking forward to returning next year."
