  • Best bang for the buck on the island.

"The property is essentially a hotel (it is the old Hilton in fact) but each unit is owned so you can save by booking with owners instead of the main resort website. No problem catching a free shuttle to and from the airport so I did not have to rent a car for our full stay. I used the Discount Hawaii Car rental app for this stay and my last stay on the big island and would highly recommend it. Just call the resort reception when you get your luggage and they pick you up - the place is only a 5 minute drive from the airport. The kids loved the pools and the beach is very nice but I would not snorkel here due to waves. There is good snorkelling up the road at Lydgate Park, which also has this massive play structure. We also enjoyed Anini Beach for snorkelling as it has sea turtles. I thought the food on the resort is pricey for what you get but that is every hotel. The only downside is lack of kitchen. We found Olympic Cafe in Kapaa to be very good. I would stay here again or maybe at the Villas which have kitchens."

  • Fabulous!

"Been there before, going again. I can't describe it any better than all of these other great reviews, so I will focus on what I think is important. Follow the rules! If you are told not to put the knives in the dishwasher, don't do it. It irks me to come back the next year and find a faded knife because it was run through the dishwasher. Please take care of this lovely place! Take your shoes off at the door! There aren't actually that many rules. Treat it like it's your own home. Please keep it nice, cuz' I'm going back! BTW, the cleaning lady is so sweet. You can bless her with your leftovers. Oh, and the Bull Shed is a great place to eat."

  • Great location, property and owner!!

"Even before arriving, we had excellent communication from the owner of the property who couldn't have been more helpful, even providing suggestions for logistics, shopping and children's activities. The local property manager was also incredibly helpful and available at all times. The property itself is perfectly maintained, had high end appliances, comfortable beds and an incredible view of the water and golf course at Pukalani. The golf course crew starts mowing and blowing around 5:30 am daily, so if you like to sleep beyond that, plan on closing the doors and windows at night and placing the A/C on. I personally don't like A/C, but it was a very good system, quiet, efficient and not blowing on your face while sleeping. The location was perfect for Kauai, centrally located and a great base of operations to access the whole island. We went to a different beach each day with never more than an hour drive and of course there are beautiful beaches very close by as well! Not to mention a great pool on the Marriott property itself. At the pool, they had a daily happy hour with food, cocktails or both and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. It was also very nice that there were gas grills on the property for guest use, each with a table/umbrella and running water. We grilled out a couple of nights and it was very nice and a great way to socialize with other guests too. All in all, we had a great time at Pukalani and can't recommend this particular property enough! We will certainly be back!! Mahalo, Ron!!"

  • I would give 10 stars if I can! The view is fantastic and interior if the condo is modern.

"We really enjoyed staying in the condo. It was our first time visiting Kauai and we loved the ocean view as well as Merriot pool area. It was only 5 minute walk from the condo and has elevator directly connect to thw beach and Merriot resort pool. loved terrace area with great furniture. There were everything we need include beach chairs, laundry, dishes, and even sun block lotion as well as refrigerator. The owner Andrea was really helpful. We had a qustetion about using safe box and sje actually came down to teach us. (Thanks Andrea!) We will definitely come back next time and I noticed that she also has a town house right next to the building and it would be great for our family union. Again, thanks a lot, MAHALO!"
