  • Perfect Getaway

"First of all, a big MAHALO to Geri and Ke'Alii for your hospitality. My husband & I really enjoyed this little studio. It really is a "Hawaiian Dream." Short walk to a beautiful beach which we walked every morning before breakfast. We enjoy the North Shore side of the island for it's low key atmosphere. The location is away from the most touristic places and big resorts, but everything is easily accessable by a car. Grocery shopping and good eateries were only minutes away. We met wonderful people during our stay there and the evenings were filled with good times and laughter. Geri and Ke'Alii have a sign in front that says "Good Food, Good Friends, & Good Times", if you want all of this, then this is the place to be. Thank you both for making our 30th wedding Anniversay vacation one we will not forget."

  • Wonderful place to stay in a beautiful location! Ocean on one side an mountains on other.

"We had a wonderful visit to Punalu'u and hope one day to return. The ocean view and the mountains took our breath away. Exploring the windward side of the island an the North Shore held wonders around every turn. We are from NC. Those who are familiar with the Blue Ridge Parkway will find the drive along these beaches similar with many spectacular photo ops and roadside attractions to explore. In addition to the mountains this area has the ocean and its offerings seafood and lounging on the beach. We particularly recommend the many roadside food trucks and restaurants. Visiting Waimea Valley and its beautiful falls and exploring the village of Haleiwa, a surfer town with restaurants and shops. Take the road down the center of the island to the Dole Plantation. There is much to do you will want to go back. Only 2 suggestions: The bedroom needs better ventilation and renters need to know that though there's a good coffee maker there may be no coffee. There was none when we arrived, but we were able to buy some with little effort."

  • A Little Bit of Heaven On Earth

"Troy and Janice were very helpful before our vacation supplying us with lots of information about activities, restaurants, etc. They were there to meet us the night we arrived and made us feel very welcome. They gave us the traditional leis welcome and a beautiful gift basket full of goodies. They went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. This lovely house was spotlessly clean and well equipped. We watched beautiful sunrises every morning from the deck so close to the ocean. We watched equally beautiful moonrises several nights as well. During the day, we drove to absolutely beautiful beaches and enjoyed watching surfers tackling some of the biggest waves we've ever seen. We enjoyed being 'in the country' and made sure to visit some really neat places to eat. Papa Ole's in the nearby shopping center had great food and was obviously a favorite of the locals. Giovanni's Shrimp Truck, just a few miles north, was fantastic! This was a very relaxing and beautiful vacation. We hated going home. If we ever travel to Hawaii again, we want to come back to the House of the Rising Sun. Thank you Troy and Janice for sharing your lovely home."

  • Mahalo for this gem!

"We just returned last week from staying at this rental, and it was everything I could have wanted. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and Waikiki, you have what essentially is a private beach and George makes sure to have amenities included in the property to help you enjoy your stay, such as beach chairs and towels and snorkelling equipment. Even little things such as soap and paper products are there when you arrive. The place was wonderfully clean and we had no problems. The view is outstanding and I would recommend watching the sunrise every morning like we did. It is very peaceful getting to fall asleep each night to the sound of the surf. There is a reef on this area of the island that keeps the bigger waves at bay and makes it a wonderful spot for swimming, snorkelling, and even relaxing. Close to North Shore and delicious food trucks. We decided only a few days into our stay that (when!) we come to Hawaii again, we are going to stay in this exact place. Free parking and a strong internet connection are also nice amenities. We couldn't get the TV to turn on, but didn't miss it at all. Mahalo George for sharing your property with us and making my dreams of paradise come true!"
