  • Older home with plenty of space in an AWESOME location!

"We stayed here for 7 days with our party of 4 adults and 4 kids. This home offers only 1 indoor shower, but has an extra half-bath upstairs. The additional shower/footwashing station outside makes the lack of an extra inside shower much less of a problem. The home was stocked with most of the dishes you need to cook your own meals and the proximity to a small grocery store, a Longs drugs and a medium sized grocery store within just a few miles makes it very easy to grab what you may have forgotten when you did your main shopping in Honolulu. The bedrooms are fairly small, but functional. The best part by far, is the location!!!! It is so close to the beach that we walked down there all the time just to take a quick look or watch the sunrise. We were very happy with the home and would likely stay there again if we were to go back. The owners, who live next door, were very easy to get a long with and were more than willing to help with advice and recommendations when asked. The wifi signal provided was not good. The owner rebooted the router pretty much every morning and we were able to access the internet on our laptop, but our phones couldn't hold the signal. Verizon service inside the house was non-existent, but on the front deck, it worked fine. Overall, it was nice to be away from the phones a little bit for the week and we loved staying there. I would definitely recommend this place to a family looking for a place to stay!"

  • Beautiful semi private beach

"This was our first time using a vacation rental and we will definitely be doing it again. The condo was clean, looked exactly like the photos, and well stocked with plenty of towels, linens, and kitchen amenities (remember to bring your own coffee and spices for cooking). There was a closet with some beach toys, two boggie boards, two beach chairs, umbrella, ponchos, and some snorkel gear. If you have your own snorkel gear, you may want to bring it though as none of the flippers fit us and there was only one goggle. We ended up purchasing our own from Costco for a reasonable price. There were plenty of board games, books, good wifi, and a few DVDs to keep the kids busy at night. We were looking for a place away from town, hoping to escape the crowds. While the beach was peaceful and we had it to ourselves most of the time, we found we drove into town a lot more than we would have expected. If you just want to stay near the condo and relax on a peaceful beach, this would be perfect. However, if you plan on doing a variety of activities (hiking, pearl harbor, diamond head, Hanauma Bay, lagoons at Ko Olina for sunsets) you may want somewhere closer to town since traffic can be slow moving as the road is only one lane most of the way. The bedroom was larger than I expected and the king size bed was very comfortable. Yes, there is road noise as many people have commented on, but it didn't bother us as we are used to it. It isn't noticeable in the living room and had the kids not been sleeping on the sofa bed, we would have slept very comfortably there. There is a light right outside the bedroom window, so the room doesn't get very dark. My husband had a little trouble falling asleep as we are used to complete darkness in our rooms. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay on the island of Oahu."

  • Family Vacation and Wedding

"Judith's condo worked out great for my family. Our family of four included 3 adults and a baby and there was more than enough room for everyone. Having the large deck was really nice because it provided even more space for everyone. Sitting out there first thing in the morning with coffee was a great way to start the day. Being able to leave the slider open to take advantage of the wonderful breeze coming in off the ocean was also a plus. We were part of a large family group that included babies, their great grandfather and everyone in-between. Four generations rented seven units all together at Pat's of Punalu'u and every condo was stocked with everything you could need. It was really nice having the calm beach and pool with enough gear provided so that everyone could enjoy the water. We are already planning a return trip!"
