  • A great house in a perfect location.

"We two couples shared this really nice little place for a week. It really was about 100' from the beach behind a larger house and across a two-lane road. The beach there was just right for looking out across the bay and another a few hundred yards south was suitable for swimming. As you can see from the pictures, the yard is quite large and lush and the Plumeria trees provided a daily bouquet for the dining room table. All the appliances worked perfectly and the washer and dryer came in really handy. The furniture was comfy and there were plenty of towels, both for bathing and the beach. The beds were all quite suitable, albeit a bit low for older folks. The only small issue was a lack of ventilation in the rear bath which contains the shower. It got a bit steamy back there and a fan would be a big help. The full cable, internet, wifi system was flawless and fast. The property manager was quite accessible especially since a broken airplane in San Diego pushed our entire itinerary back by a day. We were able to move everything up without any trouble and with a minimum of communication. This area is further north than we had originally planned on staying, but ended up being a perfect location; not too far from family in Kaneohe and within an hour or so of all the other cool stuff to see, without being jammed into a hotel in Waikiki. The Polynesian Cultural Center is 10 minutes away, if you are so inclined, but be advised, Laie is a dry city. We would recommend the Lei Lei Restaurant at Turtle Bay, but be prepared for sticker shock. We would not go back to Papa Ole's in Hau'ula. The bacon and eggs were good, but the Macadamia Pancakes and hash brown blocks were just plain weird. There's a market and Long's Drugs in the same shopping center. Our two restaurant faves were Haleiwa Joe's in, uh, Haleiwa and Buzz's in Kailua. All in all, this was a fabulous vacation and a real find! Not only would I recommend this place to others but we would stay here again ourselves."

  • Wonderful Vacation

"What a wonderful time! First time my fiance had been to Hawaii (I lived there) and this place was great! Kathe (prop mgr) and Don (security) were great! While the beach isn't too wide, it is very quiet! Great place to stay away from the crowds of Waikiki but in a location that you can drive around the island to go to the different places like Pearl Harbor, Swap Meet, Northshore, etc. VERY close to the Polynesian Cultural Center which I highly recommend going to! The kitchen was great! It had everything we needed and then some! It allowed us to cook at home and enjoy meals out on the lanai! It was really nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit - allowed us to wash everything before leaving. While it doesn't have a/c, the jalousie windows allow for a breeze to blow through the condo keeping it very nice - even when we had some Kona winds! So close to the beach, we were lulled to sleep each night by the sound of the waves... Thank you Chris for sharing your "little piece of paradise" with us - it was everything you promised it would be!"

  • amazing

"Dottie was very helpful. Before finding Dottie's home, I was dealing with another homeowner closer to the town area but he was not very inviting and to me it just seemed like he needed people to occupy his home. Dottie was the total opposite from that. From the beginning she was so nice and friendly. She would explain the whole rental agreement process and payments. She did send me a list of places around the area to eat, shop, swim, etc. We stayed at the Koi Hale. Perfect size for our party of 5 adults, 2 kids and 2 toddlers. If we had any questions, she was only a phone call away. She lives on the property so it was easy for her to help us if we needed it. The only problem we had was finding the home. It is off the beaten path but Dottie was able to guide us as we were on the phone with her. It is about 5-10 mins away from Polynesian Culture Center, so if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the perfect getaway. It's a good 50 mins to 1 hour from town. Thank you, Dottie for your beautiful home."

"Everything we need it was right there in the home. We were staying there because we had a wedding at one of the homes in the area. The location really work for us and it was neat to see the difference of the difference of how laid-back and quiet it was compared to going into the city. The home had the beautiful ocean right at your footsteps and you can fall asleep to the waves easily. The home is clean well maintained and made a quick visit like a mini vacation. Definitely will consider staying there again as well as recommending it to family and friends. Only thing is is that we rent at the bottom unit where the occupants on top with sometimes walk around pretty hard however we don't plan on being inside which you shouldn't in the place like Hawaii it's bearable. Overall, like I said a great stay!!!"
