  • In town for a family wedding

"Our group of 16 (3 generations aged 1-76; from 2 countries/2 states/5 cities) congregated for a local relative's wedding in Waikiki. This home was a perfect fit for us; we felt welcomed the minute we walked into the home, it is very convenient to a lot of amenities, and a quick drive to points of interest like Koko Head, and Hanauma Bay. The home has a lot of communal space yet enough privacy when we needed it. We ate most of our meals in the home and even had some other relatives (both local and staying at other rentals) come over for a large family dinner and we didn't feel cramped. The pool was great too! The driveway had enough space to comfortably park our rental and there is lots of street parking. We made good use of both fridges but only cooked in the downstairs kitchen. We only used the indoor washer and dryer and we had them going a lot. The barbecue got a lot of use too. We all enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Mahalo to Cynthia and Rick for making our trip so enjoyable!"

  • a great condo-- I just don't give 5 stars.....

"We had a wonderful March and April in Hawaii and this condo was perfect for us! The Colony Surf is located across from Kapiolani Park and a 15 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. We enjoyed not being in Waikiki, -- But could easily walk there--- and loved the easy access to the east side of the island for visiting old friends, as a starting point for our walks around the park, around Diamond Head, to the Kapiolani farmers market and even to Whole Foods in Kahala Mall. If one doesn't want to walk, the bus stop is 100 feet from the building and one could take it anywhere. Having a parking space was great for when we rented a car. The views from the condo of the ocean when you looked to the right and of Diamond Head to the left are ones we did not tire of and that we are missing. We watched whales, sailboats, and surfers and saw amazing sunrises over majestic Diamond head We loved spending time at San Souci Beach-- there is a small beach at the Colony Surf-- but it could get crowded so being able to walk a few steps to this wonderful swimming beach was great! The fact the unit was a true one bedroom worked very well for us as opposed to the open studio that most of the colony surf units are. The unit is well stocked for cooking. The furniture is aging, but comfortable. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was great! I can't say enough good things about the process of renting with Gary and Judy and truly thank them for letting us spend time in their Hawaiian home. We hope to be able to again spend a month or two in Hawaii Just as a p.s. And for full disclosure The Outrigger club next door with its outdoor volleyball court and dining area can be quite loud at times, and you will hear music from the Elks Club on certain nights. -- some musical acts better than others.😄. It didn't go late into the night-- I think the club must close at 9 or 10. And for us these sounds were much more pleasant than the sounds of sirens and traffic that one hears in Waikiki proper."

  • Beautiful, peaceful, safe, and accommodating

"I am truly overjoyed to have found this beautiful, safe, and peaceful haven from Merry and Gary! Absolutely everything about it is even better than the descriptions and pictures. The "reflexology" entry way is delightful and the "groovy" lights in the furo tub/shower area are relaxing. These special features make this haven fun and relaxing! Location is perfect for all Waikiki activities and convenient to bus stops when you want to venture outside the area. Being a single woman traveling in the "city" I felt very safe coming home each night as there was ample building security and never any loitering outside the building. With the classy restaurant on the bottom floor, there were always valets around. The best part about staying at this place is the warm hospitality that Merry adds to the experience. She is patient, kind, and absolute angel! Whenever I called with a question about anything (mostly about activities as the place itself was perfect!) she always provided a helpful and knowledgeable answer. When I visit Waikiki again, I only want stay in Merry's place! Feeling blessed to have been able to stay in this wonderful haven. Mahalo nui loa!"

"Let me start by saying this was by far our best stay on the island and we travel there yearly. First I would like to thank Anna and Lilly for sending a welcome care package to my home prior to arrival on the island. Upon arrival Lilly was there to greet us and show us to our place. The place was beautiful and felt just like home. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you needed. The bedrooms were also beautiful and set up nice for my family. AWWWWWW the view was incredible. It was nice to just sit outside and eat breakfast and see the ocean waves, or at night on Friday to watch the firework display from your balcony. If you ever needed anything Lilly was available to help out. Very sweet lady. I highly recommend Anna's place with 5 stars. Trust me we will be back next year."
