  • Wonderful

"Such a nice home away from home. Couldn't hear our neighbors, linens were fresh. Plenty of dishes and cookware. Loved how stocked everything was, we didn't need anything for pool or beach. A short walk to Waikiki beach and international marketplace. Check out Kona Grill and Gyu-Kaku! Working with Tiffany was easy and she is very nice. Mahalo, until next time!"

  • Great beach location

"My son and I had a great stay at the Bird Cage. Location was ideal--short walk to the beach and easy to come back to shower, etc. We rented a car and reserved a parking spot in Waikiki Grand,, really enjoying the convenience. It allowed us lots of beach time but also efficiency to do other things all over the island. As other reviews have stated, Kevin was great to work with for booking and answering specific questions before/after our stay. Thanks!!!"

  • Great place, very clean and comfortable with everything you need to feel just like at home

"Perfect location in Waikiki, on a safe and quiet street, just a block away from Kuhio (street with stores, including a small supermarket), two blocks from Kalakaua (most touristy avenue with all the luxury brands and restaurants) and three blocks from the beach. You do not need a car: you may walk to all locations on Waikiki, and take the bus to visit Honolulu (don´t miss the palace downtown). But if you have a car, there is a covered private space. As this is a corner unit, just opening the windows was enough to keep it cool (in May), and we never turned on the AC. Everything you needed was there (and top quality) in kitchen , bathroom and bedroom. There were even beach towels, umbrellas and foldable chairs. The one thing missing is a lunch table, so you take your meals on the kitchen bar/counter or on the balcony. The rooms are large and the balcony very private and pleasant. The views are limited by other buildings, but you can get a glimpse of the canal in the back and of the fireworks on Friday evening. The pool is small and mostly in the shade , and you can cook a BBQ next to it (which, by the way, you can also do at Ft de Russy beach). Communication with Megan and Justin was simple, they always replied to our emails within a day or two (we never had to call) , and they returned our safety deposit in the week after our departure. On Waikiki, you can enjoy sunrise and sunsets: in the early morning, jog to the top of Diamond head, around the zoo park, or along Ft de Russy beach. In the late afternoon, swim at the beach or have a drink at the terrace of Buho (Mexican restaurant) or the new open terrace at Top-of-Waikiki. The month went by so quickly that we wished we could have stayed longer."

  • What we needed

"This place was exactly what my nieces (19 and 23 yrs old) needed. It was centrally located and had great views of both Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach, there is also the canal next to a golf course with lush greenery. I had breakfast on the lanai every morning. We were in extremely reasonable walking distance to Waikiki Beach, great eateries, and shopping. The noise, surprisingly was minimal considering how close we were to "where it all happens". The ABC stores are where it's at- basically on every corner with fresh snacks and groceries, toiletries etc. We did lots of beach bumming and eating which we walked everywhere to. One activity we did which required driving was parasailing- however we rented a car for the week. It's about a 20 minute drive from Hanauma Bay and other parts of Honolulu. We visited the Dole Plantation, again we drove to, in Wahiawa, which is about 45 minutes away and a BEAUTIFUL drive full of lush greenery. Then we also went to the Pearl Harbor Museum but was picked up for that. We also visited Chinatown, which we weren't huge fans of... mostly because we've been to Chinatowns in NYC, San Fransisco and Chicago and that was about 15 minutes away- so we definitely appreciated the parking spot. Upon arrival we called him and he met us out front of the villas, guided us to our parking spot and took us to our condo. The only thing that sort of left us confused and waiting was we never got a real email confirmation from Budi via email, but because he and I had a conversation over the phone, I didn't feel the need to have an official confirmation... maybe I should have? But it came through. During our stay Budi emailed me the confirmation page, and then picked up our payment. Other than that, Budi is nice, friendly and informative. We would definitely stay here again, and if we have a bigger group we might see if Budi has something else available for us before we seek out other properties. Thanks Budi!"
