  • Nice and comfortable

"My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the condo. It was nice and comfortable where we could just relax. Even though is was about a 10 minute or so drive into Galena, I liked the fact that we were away from the hustle and bustle of the town. And the drive was very scenic. For being a 1 bedroom condo, it was nice and spacious. It was very clean. I would stay here again. Now if I would only take up golf but even so I enjoyed the views of the green and fairways."

  • like being in the treetops

"We stayed 3 nights with our daughter and 2 grandchildren. The house is nestled in the woods so that when you are inside it feels like you are in a treehouse when looking outside. It is nicely decorated in a more contemporary way that we found so pleasant. There are vaulted ceilings that make it feel so open. The beds were all comfortable and there was one for each person because of the loft. You wouldn't want to have to carry any big bags up the spiral staircase though. But the kids loved it. We never even used the downstairs area as the advertised game system was not there. I did not care about that though as I did not want them using that while we were here. I did cook in the kitchen and it had everything I needed and the outdoor grill worked very well. We ate outside each day and were not bothered by the bugs until the sun would go down. The owners club was great. The children loved the pool and the free game room. This is about 8 miles from town so we did have to do some planning for meals. Ended up eating dinners at the house instead of driving back into town for a meal. We would definitely stay here again if we come to this area. It was so peaceful and had everything we needed to be comfortable."

  • Family Getaway in Galena Territory!!

"Oh my! We were truly fortunate to be able to rent the Retreat House. The pictures do not do justice to how beautiful the house is and how great the setting is. We were with our children and grandchildren (various ages!). All of us loved this house immensely. The beds were very comfy, the master bath was amazing, loved the hot tub and the fire pit. Everything about this house is top-notch! The kitchen was completely stocked with anything and everything you would need and everything had a place, and the bathrooms and bedrooms too! This home is spotless!! Different levels for gathering, and the bedrooms have their own bathrooms. We had space and also such a comfy feeling when we were all together, which was a lot!! One morning the guys went golfing and us gals went downtown and then all met up later . Yes, the location of this home is equally amazing. One night we had an awesome ping pong madness competition. We laughed so much. Missing it already. Owner communication was quick and reliable. Thank you Bill & Sue for being so very helpful and nice! Would definitely stay here again as we have made fun, loving, and beautiful memories. :)"

  • Eagle's Nest EXCEEDED all Expectations!

"As the door swung open, I had a moment where I thought of "Goldilocks" standing in awe of the big house she was entering. I've hosted a weekend retreat for our directors for 6 years, and this was the ultimate destination. Wish I'd found it earlier. Our event is a Friday night till Sunday, and we don't leave the premises, so all the food is prepared and served on site. The kitchen fascilities are high end from silverward to dishes to coffee pots and steak knives, even the spice drawer is organized. The spacious first floor allowed us to cook, dine and have training sessions. We could sink back into luxurious leather couches for in depth conversations, or perch at the counter on bar stools for a snack and a chat. The next day, we chose to have our taco bar lunch downstairs in another complete kitchen dining area. One night we had a "bed time" segment, and the downstairs circular leather couch conversation pit was a perfect place to share stories. Part of our tradition is to intersperse training with games, and the multi level decks and hot tup and driveway and firepit were back drops for crazy games and fun pictures. The first director who came a little early said, "I don't know if I want to look at the bedrooms till you tell me which one is mine.." In the past her sleeping accomodations maybe hadn't alway been stellar. As she peeked through every single bedroom, her exclamations and comments got louder and more enthusiastic. "I don't care where you put me, this is AMAZING!" she stated. We crammed in so much in our weekend, and multiple times I'd pause when I'd notice one more detail, one more decorating nuance that cemented my opinion of the opulence of the decor. I appreciate staying in luxury, but that's not easy to do when you're housing many and keeping costs reasonable. This house far exceeded anything I imagined, and truly, the whole time I was there, I was thinking of what other group I could bring or recommend. Before leaving, we circle the room asking for individual takeaways, and preceding the motivation and teaching and training evaluations, every person commented on the house experience. A STELLAR EXPERIENCE"
