  • Four Winds

"The cottage, Four Winds, is on the point of a peninsula just north of Southwest Harbor. It is a beautiful spot with its own beach and private dock. The house is roomy, clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The three front upstairs bedrooms open out to a large deck with lounge chairs and a hammock. Our family has enjoyed a vacation here for the last two years. We just loved taking the youngest kids on sea glass hunts on the rocky beach and watching the older kids of all ages swimming and fishing for crabs off the dock. We all enjoyed our meals on the patio while drinking in the peaceful views of the ocean with boats sailing by. Four Winds is a little piece of heaven tucked away on Mt. Dessert Island!"

  • Comfortable Cottage on the Quiet Side

"The Greenhouse was very clean and well appointed. Spacious for two people with a large master bedroom nice living dining area. Large yard with patio set in a quiet compound well located just outside Southwest Harbor but within walking distance. Hosts provided detailed information about the house local hikes, restaurants and so much more. It was very helpful and they were very easy to communicate with and very responsive when we couldn't figure out the TV. Overall a great getaway."

  • Wonderful !

"The Tree House is exactly as it looks in the photos: perched in the trees, secluded, yet close to All the treasures of Mt Desert Island. It was perfect for two of us and our dogs. We did not use the bungalow, but that makes it equally perfect for four people. The main cabin layout was delightful. You can have coffee on the deck in the morning overlooking the cove, or eat in the wonderful dining nook with a huge picture window that feels like you're truly in a Treehouse. The wood pellet stove is so easy to use and makes the living area really cozy. The kitchen appliances are all new and there is even an apartment size stacked washer and dryer. Scott and Susan were wonderful, there and helpful if you wanted them, but totally non intrusive. If you're there with dogs, Little Long Pond is a MUST. There's miles of carriage roads that connect to Acadia at the Jordan Pond House, but no bicycles are allowed on the Little Long Pond roads and dogs are allowed off leash! There are also miles of hiking trails. We went there everyday. It's a little hard to find the first time, but definitely worth locating it. The Traveling Lobster shack is only a couple miles from the cabin. We got steamed lobsters, mussels and corn and took them home to eat in the Treehouse. We looked everyday but didn't see any seals in the cove, but that would have been the icing on the cake. Our stay in the Treehouse was truly delightful, definitely recommend it."

  • Quaint & Convenient Stay!

"My wife and I enjoyed two nights in this SW Harbor home! The location was great for getting around Acadia National Park and we fell in love with the area. The outdoor temps dipped into the 50's and Karen's heating system worked fine to keep the nights comfortable. The stair landings are a bit narrow and somewhat steep and the bathroom space is a little tight, however, we are both in our early 60's & active and did not have a problem negotiating our way around the spaces. The home was also clean and Karen's access instructions were easy to follow. We found this home to have a convenient location to enjoy our first experiences in the area and highly recommend Sips Restaurant for dinner and Thurston's Restaurant for great lobster grinds. Thank You Karen for sharing your quaint home!"
