  • Great value and nice place

"We enjoyed staying at the cottage for five nights, and found it to be a good location to explore Southwest Harbor and the rest of Mount Dessert Island as well. The cottage is clean and cozy with all you need to eat in if you so choose. There were only two of us, but the loft has two twin beds so two more people could have come. We hiked , ate lobster, and had a wonderful time . I would recommend the Corson cottage!"

  • Spacious property located in the heart of Bar Harbor.

"Summerside Cottage is a nice two-story, 4-bedroom home with great access to the town of Bar Harbor. My family of 7 adults and one baby were very comfortable here and really enjoyed our stay and all that Bar Harbor has to offer. Property is well-maintained, instructions are clear, customer service was fantastic, in advance of our trip, and I would highly recommend this property to other families. My only suggestion would be some floor fans in each bedroom to help circulate the air at night. Hands down, this was a fantastic place to stay for our entire family!"

  • Hodgdon Pond Farm in Seal Cove, Maine.

"It was a week in paradise. The weather was beautiful, the privacy undisturbed. The calm waters of the pond were so inviting that I swam a couple of times a day. Beautiful scenery, a lot of places to visit on the Mount Desert Island, the land of Acadia national park. Nice local gift galleries and shops. The cottage itself is cozy and comfortable, has everything you need for your getaway in terms of the household items. We loved the wood stove and the grill outside on the patio. I especially loved the hammock for reading my novel, so perfectly positioned to catch the afternoon sun."

  • True Taste of Country

"This was our first visit to this part of Maine, and we fell in love with the whole Mount Desert Island area but especially with Acadia. We enjoyed the view from Cadillac Mountain, but especially loved getting up close and personal with the ocean, at Thunder Hole and at the tide pools at Wonderland. We went on an awesome whale-watching tour out of Bar Harbor and enjoyed walking around, soaking up the touristy atmosphere of the town. We also made a trip to Fort Knox and the Penobscot Observatory, both of which were impressive. Since we were only in the area for 3 days, we spent most of our time out and about, but what time we did have at the house was great - it had everything we needed except drinking water, which was easily remedied. The property is beautiful and there isn't a neighbor in sight, which was nice. Unfortunately we didn't get to see any wildlife around the house, just a woodpecker and other birds. There's an extensive collection of books of all sorts in the front hall for your reading pleasure, along with games and a few toys. The house was a comfortable temperature for the most part; the fans came in handy for making the bedrooms comfortable for sleeping. The new refrigerator is freaking awesome, and it was so handy to have a washer and dryer on site. We also really appreciated having a cooler and some already frozen "blue ice" we could borrow. On the downside, the downstairs shower didn't have much water pressure (I didn't try the upstairs one), and the water tends to smell a bit . . . cottage-y . . . but no big deal. It was a bit inconvenient not to have cell phone service, but the homeowners have made sure there is a landline available. Wi-fi wassn't working great for us - sometimes fast, sometimes slow, and sometimes not at all. Same with Netflix. Nothing that was a deal breaker, and we'd come back in a heartbeat to enjoy this taste of Maine country living and to be so conveniently located by Bar Harbor and Acadia."
