  • Beautiful little gem of a camp.

"This is a fantastic camp. Prettier than it looks. There are so many wonderful, thoughtful details inside. The sleeping porch is lovely. We had a minor plumbing glitch and Cricket (charming owner) was completely responsive. The camp is small however. The vibe is serene, perhaps better suited to couples than families with active kids. (That could be changed however if they add some boats and floats down at the water.) Entry into the water is fairly easy. Lake bottom is rocky. Water is crystal!"

  • Classic Maine Camp, Very Relaxing

"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, it was exactly what I was looking for. The island was about 300 yards by canoe, about a 5-7 minute paddle. Tom, Anna's brother, picked us up my motor boat and assisted us in bringing over our stuff which was helpful. The camp was part of a boys camp which was built in 1908. This island itself is about 2.5 acres and houses the main house plus the cabin (where I stayed). The cabin sits right on the water and it a classic Maine camp with lots of character. There is a pair of loons on the lake and their calls at night just added to the charm. Tom and his mother were very welcoming and friendly. I'm planning on coming back next year."

  • The sunsets you can watch from the house are worth the price of alone.

"Nice secluded area. It is so quiet at night, the only thing you hear are the loons. The sunsets are breathtaking. Access to the lake is right there. Canoed multiple times on the beautiful lake! Definitely will recommend this place."

  • Nature at its finest ... with creature comforts

"Tucked into the side of a peaceful, wooded peninsula jutting out into tranquil Sandy Pond, this well loved and impeccably maintained cabin provided a perfect Maine retreat. Highlights included: Strolling to 'the Point' and sipping morning coffee as the eagles soared effortlessly above. Swimming in the pristine, refreshing lake water and drying off on the massive, sun-warmed boulders. Exploring the unique corners of the lake by kayak in the morning calm ... and by sparkling moonlight. Biking the scenic and rolling country roads. Relaxing in the hot tub while entertained by near constant activity at the perfectly located bird feeder. Gathering fantastic local farm produce and seafood during sightseeing trips to the coast and nearby villages. Reading by the flickering fireplace on a rainy afternoon. Toasting amazingly beautiful and ever-changing sunsets at 'the Point'. Eating simple dinners on the enclosed summer porch with the surrounding treetops subtly and beautifully lit. Falling asleep to rustle of the breeze through the trees and the periodic call of the resident loons. The cabin was as attractive, comfortable and efficient as described by the owner, Paul, and other reviewers. Monica, the cabin manager, was very welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend this property to those seeking a perfect mix of pristine lakeside nature and country living close to wonderful sight seeing on the Maine coast. We hope to return someday!"
