  • Maranatha Cottage

"My wife and I have stayed in this cottage during the last three summers while we were taking classes at a woodworking school in nearby Rockport, Maine. The cottage has always met our needs comfortably. The surrounding area is very peaceful and the views of the rocky seashore are very beautiful. The kitchen is well-equipped with whatever might be needed to prepare a meal but we frequently ate our dinners at one of the many restaurants in the vicinity. The beds are comfortable but as others have written you should provide your own pillows and linens. Overall it provides a comfortable place to stay while you explore the beautiful mid-coast of Maine and is very reasonably priced."

  • Gorgeous setting, rustic accomodations

"We arrived on a cool evening only to find there were no blankets,. This also happened to another renter apparently. We contacted Clifford and received a prompt response. He was very apologetic, granted us an extended stay and refunded a day. We couldn't have asked for more recompense!! The cottage is an old place, I would call it a family camp and it needs a little more TLC. My roomate has an allergy to mildew and there was definitely an odour of that in the living room and kitchen area. She had difficulty with that. There was plenty of hot water for showers after a day of painting. As artists, we found numerous gorgeous views to paint, some from the cottage's deck. The weather was too cool for us to enjoy the deck but it is sturdy and the table and chairs out there are very comfortable. The next door neighbor was very friendly and helpful, telling us about the area. The location is fantastic as are the views from the deck. The McLoons lobster shack is a 3 minute drive away and we ate from there frequently. Proximity to Rockland is good, with lots to see and do. I would recommend the cottage with the caveat that it is rustic, you need to be prepared to supplement things like dishwashing liquid, dish sponges, dish towels, aluminum foil etc. etc. Some VRBO properties are fully stocked with all of that, this one is not. The owner is very responsive and concerned and nice to deal with."

  • The location was amazing. All we hoped for!

"Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. The cottage was very cute & cozy. Explored the other neighboring communities and thought the Keag store and Rockland were great. Hope to return soon."

  • Good place at reasonable price.

"This review is actually for 11/12/16, but the VRBO button would not allow me to put down that date. Anyway, we've stayed many times before and find every part of the home very nice. Lots of windows, beds, bathrooms, chairs, all that you need for a comfortable stay in a wonderful housekeeping cottage on the coast. The views are exceptional, nothing like it around. There are plenty of supplies for, well, cleaning, because it is a house keeping cottage. We always enjoy making it better for the next person to stay in. Nice wireless internet connection, cable tv, those are extras. Very enjoyable to stay here, every time."
