  • Exactly as advertised.

"Spent a wonderful five days just watching the lobstermen at work. The unit was perfect for two. The neighbor's on either side were friendly and interesting. Nancy even had her brother stop by to tell us all about the history of Bailey Island! If time allows, take the ferry ride, interesting and inexpensive."

  • The location is key - Bailey Island...

"The location is key... Bailey Island has all the charm that a small island off Maine is about. This house is historic.... the family is great.... what a great deal to have the view and access to the water. Well worth the money -"

  • Great property to relax

"Private beach, plenty of rocks to explore, hermit crabs in the water: the kids were busy exploring the property. You basically have your own private peninsula. It's quite remote. The supermarket is ~30 minutes away. I recommend renting a kayak close by and paddle back to the house and keep it during your stay. It's a nice quiet bay."

  • Already planning to go back!

"My family started talking about going back to the Homestead before our vacation was over! Our 8 y.o. twins loved playing on the huge protected beach with such variation of high and low tide and a short run from the house (digging, hermit crabbing, swimming). The sunsets were DIVINE (and I'll admit, we didn't make it up in time to see the sunrises, which I hear are great too!). The house is well stocked in the kitchen and accomodations and very comfortable. The location is quiet and relaxing, and you can easily get to nearby attractions if you are looking for more activity to occupy your time. The Johnson family is super friendly and helpful, you will definitely feel "at home" in their home at the Homestead. Looking forward to booking 2017 soon!"
