  • Already planning our return!

"Our family of 5 LOVED this home. Sherri has paid so much attention to detail and ensures that her guests are extremely comfortable. We were arriving late and she turned on the heat so my kids would not be chilly. As we pulled up, the top floor was illuminated giving the house a "lighthouse" look and we knew we were at the right destination. The kids slept on the top floor and enjoyed the 360 views at sunrise to gently wake them. The antiques, collectables, repurposed items....all of it made this home so charming. Kitchen and linen closets are well supplied, we didn't need to bring anything but whatever we wanted to cook and toiletries, which was great with an already full mini van lol. We cannot wait to come back and are already looking at our calendar. Sherri, thank you, thank you for helping to make my 40th birthday weekend a great one for my family! ps- Cooks was delish!"

  • The view that spoils you

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay at the house. Problem was, we were looking for a house to buy and nothing compared to the view at Jaquish. Waking up in the master bedroom was unbelievable Even on the morning after the presidential election I could find some hope in that sunrise. We would love to return when we can also enjoy using the small cottage for families and friends as it was closed for the season when we were there. The search continues for our Maine house but we plan on renting again!"

  • Great long-weekend getaway for two

"We loved staying at the Nezinscott Cottage and will definitely be back! George was a very attentive and personable host, making a fire in the stove for us before we arrived and advising us on the different restaurants nearby. But he was also unobtrusive - there is a lot of privacy at the cottage, which we appreciated. He let us stay a bit later on our departure day since there were no new guests arriving that day, which was a pleasant surprise. The main floor of the cottage is very nicely appointed - the kitchen has everything you could possibly want, and the living room is cozy with plenty of games and puzzles. Both rooms are nicely decorated. We especially appreciated the large amount of dry firewood kept in a room off the kitchen! We were there over Columbus Day weekend and kept the woodstove going pretty much nonstop. It rained one day and we were so glad we didn't need to rely on getting wet wood lit (the cottage is heated only by the woodstove). The upstairs is pretty rustic - not a lot of privacy if you're there with a bunch of people - but for the two of us it was perfect. The full-sized bed in the bedroom upstairs was so comfortable! My husband and I are used to a Tempurpedic at home so we're super picky about beds in places we stay, and we both slept soundly and comfortably every night here. The location is perfect - the photos honestly don't do it justice. The view from the Adirondack chairs on the deck was fantastic - we sat for hours in the sun watching the tide come in. On our last morning a group of turkeys came up the hill from the beach and went right past us. Bailey Island is very laid back while still having several restaurants to choose from - a couple of nights we dined in Brunswick which has lots of options. The binder full of restaurant info in the cottage was super-helpful - on our last night we ate at a German restaurant in Brunswick that we agreed was one of the best meals we've had in a long time!"

  • The location is key - Bailey Island...

"The location is key... Bailey Island has all the charm that a small island off Maine is about. This house is historic.... the family is great.... what a great deal to have the view and access to the water. Well worth the money -"
