  • Buckeyes love the island

"Beautifully decorated and filled with lots of entertainment besides the vistas. A very comfortable home. The stairs are alittle daunting for those who live on one floor. Locals in area in shops and restaurants are so eager to make your stay enjoyable. We have been to area many times and we thought we knew where house was but we did not. My husband is a walker and he so enjoyed his adventures. We were constantly looking at the activity on the lake. It is alittle busy and noisy on the curve of rt.24 but quiets later at night. It would be perfect for many visitors."

  • Loved it!

"The Gull was perfect for our family (two teenagers), and Tim couldn't have been more accommodating, providing extra towels for the asking when we arrived. Daughter loved the privacy of the loft. Clean, comfortable furnishings, well-equipped kitchen (including accessories needed for a lobster feast on the deck), great location easily walkable to restaurants and lobster sellers near the bridge, friendly neighbors. Nice collection of board games and DVDs for downtime. Upper-floor view made sunrise over Casco Bay each morning all the more amazing. (Also didn't hurt that the weather was perfect for our entire stay.) A few things to be aware of: Wi-Fi bandwidth couldn't support video streaming (not unusual in areas like this) and signal in the loft was hit-and-miss at times, but otherwise service was good. The window blinds aren't all that effective for darkening the room in the early morning sun. If you're not an early riser and can't sleep through a fair amount of early morning light, consider bringing along a sleep mask. Also there's no automatic ice maker in the freezer--there are a couple of trays for making your own. Thanks to Tim for a great stay-highly recommend this property and the area."

  • This is Maine!

"Honestly this is Maine!! The views, the home, and the opportunity to see sights and enjoy all that Maine is. It is a great location to beaches, sights and encourages you to cook some meals at home and enjoy family time around the tables. Visit this location even if you have a smaller group because it is so special and holds such amazing history you cannot miss."

  • Peaceful week in Midcoast Maine

"My boyfriend and I had a great week at Cottage Aerie. The ship-like apartment is perfectly outfitted with everything you might need for a week away. Peter and his father (also Peter) were helpful and accommodating. I appreciated that Peter let us rent from a Monday through Saturday instead of sticking to the week minimum like many other owners. There is lots to explore in Harpswell but we also took trips to Boothbay, Wiscasset, Portland (2x), and Freeport. Bring beach chairs and water shoes for a summer visit. A car is necessary. Enjoy the beautiful air and scenery! Thanks Peter!"
