  • Beautiful home in a great location

"The house was just as described. Clean and comfortable. Rooms are nicely decorated. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots/pans and equipment. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch. Also tons of beach toys, umbrellas, chairs, etc. so no need to haul your own. Short walk down to the beach which was easy with kids. All around great stay and highly recommended."

  • Charmer

"We did a last minute 2 day trip to Chatham. As it happened this delightful, charming, cozy cottage was available for the days we were there. It was a very comfortable, well appointed cottage, far better than any hotel room. The location is very close to town, about a mile (a perfect walk) from Lighthouse beach. If you choose, you can park your car & walk to everything. Our favorite room was the porch. We had coffee there in the mornings & read there in the afternoon. Tom made the process very easy. Actually, I have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience! We will return..."

  • The Cottage Majal

""Cottage Majal" is what the gatekeeper calls Chatham Beach Cottages, and you do feel rather special swanning into this neat, briskly New England compound with two rental cottages. You are on a peninsula formed by Buck's Creek, a spectacular marsh that flows into the sea, and you are in a delightful cottage with a view of a truly fine beach on Nantucket Sound. Better still, you are about 150 steps from the beach itself. We are pretty sure you cannot live closer to one of the best beaches on the Cape. The cottage Seadaisy was charming, bright and well-equipped; the owners, Scott and his mother Ann, are really lovely people, hospitable and full of very good information. The beach is public and popular, but you can find quite a roomy stretch even on the most crowded weekend--we know, we were there! There is a snack bar and a sailboat rental, and the staffs are exceptionally helpful. If you are into kayaking, sailboarding or entertaining children, the Creek is fabulous. If you want to wander out in the dark and look at the stars with warm sifty sand under your feet, you have come to the right place. We loved every minute of our two weeks and hope to return. Soon."

  • A simple cottage in shade of pines, firs and oaks.

"We have enjoyed our stay at this property. The beautiful wooded, private yard is quiet, cool and relaxing. Our two grandchildren, 4 and 6 years old, liked to watch the wild turkeys, play hide and seek, and build "animal traps" and "hiding places" out of dry branches. We slept on the enclosed porch, falling asleep to the rustle of the trees and waking up to the sounds of birds. We've been vacationing at Cape Cod for the past 5 years, every year staying at a different place. The local beaches didn't impress us. We found the beach on John's lake (Back Road, Mashpee) more suitable for small children. The beach wasn't crowded, had clean water, sand, was surrounded by trees, had a new playground, a covered picnic area and rest rooms ($15 for non residents). The children improved their swimming skills!"
