  • First time at this end of the cape

"This was the first time we have been to the outer Cape. This house is in the perfect area to explore the outer Cape. The O'Rourkes were very helpful with information about their beautiful, fully equipped home, and all there is to do in the area. Although my husband and I were alone, the house is set up with room for 6+ people. We spent three nights and went to walk around Wellfleet, Provincetown, and Orleans. We also took a walk on Coast Guard beach where we were entertained by a pod of whales breaching and swimming up and down the beach. We also watched some seals feeding closer to shore. What a treat for late October. We hope to come back when the weather is a bit warmer."

  • Great Rental for the Price ($110/night with no additional fees like most other rentals).

"If you are looking for refined accomodations with modern appliances and the latest household decor... THIS IS NOT THE RENTAL FOR YOU!! However, if you are looking for a small, clean bungalow with basic working kitchen appliances and comfortable beds, and you plan to spend most of your time outside, you simply cannot beat the value of this rental. The owner was accessible and responsive. The cove and dock were beautiful and I wish we had more time to enjoy them. As this rental was in early October, I do not know if the cabin has adequate a/c and/or heat. The wifi worked well, however the cable could have featured a few more vital channels (espn & Nickelodeon are virtual necessities when you have kids). The lighting in one of the bedrooms was inadequate (only one of the two small lamps worked). Unlike other reviewers we had no problem driving off and on the property."

  • Affordable, pet friendly, centrally located

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Eastham. This rental was more than sufficient for a couple traveling with 2 Chihuahuas. We really only used the master bedroom, but the second bedroom is on the opposite end of the house with an ensuite bathroom. Unfortunately, the bathroom nearer to the master bedroom has not been updated in some time (it has a quirky old time aesthetic but the sink barely let out enough water to wash your hands). The second bathroom was recently updated, but less convenient to access from the living and master bedroom area. The house is adequately furnished, nothing fancy, a little worn. A couple of the dressers appeared to be well kept mid-century pieces. Limited cable TV. Bring your own DVDs if you want to watch TV. Bring your own games too. The house is well stocked with towels and linens. Access to laundry was helpful. Kitchen is stocked with the bare basics. We were fine cooking for two but I imagine if you are cooking and serving meals to a larger group you might find the kitchen supplies to be limited. As others have mentioned, the bed in the master bedroom is less than comfortable. It's squeaky and the plastic mattress cover is annoying. A portable air conditioner is provided for the master -- it is not powerful enough to cool the whole house. The owner provides a single key to the front door. It would have been nice to have a key to the garage door too, as this would have made moving groceries etc from the car to the kitchen easier. Ant traps galore!! I suppose this was good because we didn't see many ants indoors. However, given that we had 2 small dogs with us, we were cautious about the dogs finding the traps and eating them. We greatly enjoyed the location. One can easily access the Cape Cod Rail Trail and businesses in Eastham. Get your bikes at Little Capistrano bike rental. Be sure to check out the bay and ocean beaches. Ponds are nearby too. 4/5 - stars. The house is generally more utilitarian than attractive. It's the no-frills nature of the rental that keeps me from giving it 5 stars. The owners could easily turn this into a 5 star rental by servicing one of the bathrooms, replacing some of the living room furniture, perhaps getting another window A/C unit, perhaps putting in a fire pit or making the outdoor spaces more usable. Also, the kitchen supplies are definitely limited if you have a larger group. Appreciated that the house was stocked with paper towels and TP."

  • WOW!!! Feels like home. Quite and peaceful.

"Words can not be said enough about Tranquility. Nancy and Paul made you feel like it was your own home. They were so helpful before we arrived with directions and what to expect when you arrive. Their welcoming basket was a delight when we arrived. Perfect for a sunset on the beach at the Cape. So many great restaurants close by. If you love donuts and pastries, Hole in One is your place. The Fairways Restaurant is so welcoming and food is so fresh and cooked to your liking. Crab Cake Benedict is a must. Oops, sorry for leaving the review for Tranquility. If you are there for relaxing, this is your place. Quite and surrounded by trees and all the feathered friends that come to the feeders. Close to beaches and historical cemeteries. Cove Burying Ground is a must stop. 3 Mayflower passengers are buried there. The headstones are still in good shape for how old they are. Some have been replaced. Nancy and Paul have outdone themselves for making you feel at home. Tranquility is right in the middle of the Cape so you are close to so many attractions and ferries if needed. I will be telling all my friends about this lovely home so if they ever come to the Cape, this is the place to stay. No, it is not on the beach, so your outside activities are calm and pleasant. On the beach front, the wind is blowing and sitting outside can be cold and windy. Thanks again Nancy and Paul for a delightful stay. You hospitality makes us want to come back and explore more. Thanks again. Stephen and Crystal"
