  • Ideal Multi-Generational Family

"This property was ideal for a multi-generational family as it allowed us (Grandparents) to escape to the spacious studio apartment. We all enjoyed the large deck and with co-operating weather dined outside most of the time. The grounds are kid friendly and the property is well set back from the street and is located on a dead-end (circle) that backs up to the central Cape Cod bike trail. It is also close to one of the best family beaches on Cape Cod. Nearby amenities such as supermarkets and fish markets are easily accessible. Finally, we rebooked for next year. What more can I say than that?"

  • The only bad part is leaving

"This was our second year staying a week at the Teepee, so that says something I suppose. For our families (adults and 5-6 year olds), this location is the most ideal on the Cape. And we just love this house! It has a woodsy feel, with a back yard perfect for making smores in the firepit. As others have mentioned, it's convenient for spectacular bay and ocean beaches (plus the underrated Great Pond / Wiley Park right down the street- a very nice swimming lake), and for getting on the bike trail (bike rental spot is within walking distance). The house is so comfortable and relaxing and well-equipped (but, yes, the spiral staircase that leads to the two upstairs bedrooms is a bit tight and could be challenging for some). It should be noted that the house is not really "in town"- you will be biking / driving to most stores and activities. Works for us, since the trip is always beautiful no matter which direction you go, and cute Cape towns are within a few miles, but it's not for those who are looking for an in-town, walk-to-the-corner-store (or pub) experience. We enjoy the quiet, and the sounds of the birds...the tree-house feel of it all, and the easy accessibility to beaches and such. The nearby Wellfleet Drive-In is good fun for the family (fun to bring lawn chairs and sit in front of the car), and whale watching in P-Town was definitely worth the money- it's magical to see them flopping around out there. Also should be noted that we did pull a tick off one of the kids last year when we got home (probably picked-up at the Welfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, but hard to say for sure). Didn't turn into Lyme thankfully, but they are out there, and we were not so good at checking last year. We got the message- it is important to be vigilant every day about checking for them. All in all, the Teepee house, and this part of the Cape, come highly recommended for those looking for a family-friendly, nature-loving vacation in a comfortable home with accessible, friendly and helpful owners. And I bet it's really nice off-season, when the crowds have thinned out and you can get more bang for your buck. It must be beautiful in spring, with everything coming to life, and the water's still warm in the fall (actually, the ocean is warmest then). Thank you Jeanne- see you next year!"

  • Great cottage with good location

"We are a family of 4 who rented this cottage from Dave this August. Although we planned the vacation intending to bring our dog with us, he sadly passed away this summer and Dave was great about subtracting the charge for the dog from our final cost. We arrived to a very clean (no smells and couldn't tell it was a "pet friendly" rental) cute cottage - nothing fancy but worked well for us. Lots of extras including plenty of paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. Having beach chairs, Boogie boards and beach toys all there for our use was really nice and saved us some space in our vehicles. There is a great patio (with a charcoal grill - charcoal supplied!) where we ate most of our meals. The location was great - within a block of the Cape Cod Rail Trail and less than 4 miles to Coast Guard Beach! We had a small issue during our stay and Dave was immediately apologetic and we had a mutually agreed on solution right away. My only request would be for either a window fan or small air conditioner unit for the small bunk room - it got quite hot in there... I would absolutely rent this cottage from Dave again!"

  • Pretty Perfect.....

"We have been going to the cape for 8 years and have stayed here the last three (2 weeks each time). The location is absolutely prime. Steps from the bike path, a short walk to Great Pond, 10-15 minute bike ride to the Bay and 15-20 minute bike ride to Coast Guard. Couldn't ask for more! It is also a great location to start runs with many options to hit the road if the bike path gets to boring! The house is nice sized with a great common area, adequate kitchen space, and a nice secluded deck. The only minor dings are a loud dishwasher (but better than washing everything by hand) and a CRT TV (but it reduces the desire to watch TV, which is good!). Overall you won't be sorry for sure!"
