  • Great place for the price!

"Nice little cottage with great lake frontage. Nice dock and yard. Neighbors are very friendly. Less than a 10 minute drive from town (Indian River). Paula's and Christopher's have excellent breakfasts and Vivio's was great for dinner (get there early as it's a popular place). Mackinaw and Gaylord are only a 30 minute drive in either direction. Would recommend for couples or a small family and those who travel with pets."

  • Wonderful place to vacation-our second year

"Once again for our second August, we had a wonderful time here, thanks Valerie, your home is great, and an extra thanks for adding the kayaks this year, I monitored him and my grandson really enjoyed that part. Thanks to Tim, the rental manager, as usual you were very helpful during our stay. Fantastic sunsets, we got a lot of memories in our pictures including the bald eagle who landed in a nearby tree by Tims house to pose for my camera. You can see the Mackinac Bridge from the deck, even though it's 15 miles away, and on clear nights it's lit up, and beautiful. There's a lot to see and do in the area. Nice lighthouse we found near Rogers City that you can go in with the grandkids. Last year we went to Mackinac City and then Mackinac Island, only a short drive away. If you've never been to the Island, you need to go at least once in your life, take the kids/grandkids, We've gone several times. Cheboygan has a lot to offer as well, plenty of stores, restaurants, the river, and a nice park by the lake. Thanks Valerie and Tim, (They make you feel welcomed at this place.) We highly recommend this wonderful vacation home. The Rice family."

  • Beautiful, peaceful, and a MUST!

"I would encourage anyone who needs a place to relax, fish and need of seclusion! The owners, Steve and Vickie, keep a beautiful 2 bedroom home, by far exceeds a cabin, share a beautiful place on Ocqueoc Lake. It was hard to come home to everyday life in which is busy; yet, you miss your family. I read 3 books, enjoyed fishing at night, meeting Alvin and Theodore the friendly chipmunks. Loved watching my favorite hummingbirds. Steve offered to take our car to Lake Huron for us to kayak starting from Ocqueoc Lake into Ocqueoc River and then into Hammond Bay, unfortunately weather kept us from kayaking further. We will definitely go back. Thank you Steve and Vickie for the peacefulness that I was in need of. The stay was so needed. I love the happy hour shadow!! If you want to know what that means, book a stay!!"

  • Wonderful home on the river

"The property was exactly as advertised. Jennifer ensured that we were well cared for and if we needed anything just to ask. I would recommend this property to all my family and friends. While in Cheboygan we went to Mackinaw city and visited friends and had lunch. We also rented a boat from Mullet lake marina and spent he day on the river fishing and sight seeing. This was a great vacation home on the river. The family had a great time fishing off the dock. We made a fire in the fire pit and the adults and children made smore's. We had other family guests over to have dinner with us four out of the five nights we stayed here. There was plenty of room to sit 12 people for dinner in the dining, kitchen area. The kids spent every evening in the game room playing pool and watching the TV while the adults visited upstairs in the living room The lodge was fully stocked with all the amenities that you could think of. More pans and dishes than you could possibly need to cook any meal. The condition of the lodge was immaculate and everything worked and was top shelf. The washer and dryer came in handy as we had three small children that seem to get dirty a lot. The fall colors were setting in while we were there and the scenery all around the lodge was beautiful, especially when having coffee on the deck overlooking the river when the sun was coming up. The river was very busy with geese, ducks and other water foul. Overall the family thought this was a great getaway and they have many wonderful memories to carry through their lifetime of this vacation. I will brag on this property to all my friends and family as being one of the best vacation spots that they need to go to. We thank you very much Respectfully Roderick VanGordon & Family"
