  • Great House on Lake Michigan

"We have been renting a place on Lake Michigan for 21 years and the last five straight have been at Duneswater. The house is clean and can comfortably accommodate 8 adults and all their stuff. It is remote enough to be out of the mainstream of travelers in the area but not too remote. The big attraction is Lake Michigan. Nearby Onekama is a sleepy little non touristy village with a couple of decent places to eat and a grocery store. Onekama also has Portage Lake which is connected to Lake Michigan so you have an inland lake connected to the big lake. The Heathlands, which is a decent "up North" golf course, is also in Onekama. Arcadia Bluffs, which is an outstanding golf course, is 12 miles away. I usually don't write reviews, but the Owner has been easy to work with and we love staying at the place."

  • Gina and Jay

"Aug, 2016. As the other review's state: plenty of room, cleaned weekly and privacy galore (including the beach area, had 1 person walk by in the week we were there). I grew up in the area and knew that was a secluded section of land and beach as we could never go there. Also, everything truly is there that you could need. Just bring your own food and beverage and kick back (especially around the fire pit at night). I would like to again thank Kevin and his folks for sharing this hidden gem with us,"

  • A very comfortable and well equipped place to bask in the beauty of the area.

"We found the Lion's Share house to be clean, well maintained and well equipped with what we needed for a wonderful, relaxing vacation. We appreciated the ample supply of towels and the abundance of towel racks in the bathroom. The large, well shaded deck was a delightful place to linger. The double bed was a bit saggy and although the twin beds were in good condition and very comfortable, for our group of three adult couples (three of whom are over six feet tall) it would have been ideal to have three queen beds. That said we are trying to find a way to come back to The Lion's Share next summer. A heads-up for prospective renters: the house is listed as sleeping six but the price quoted was for five and we were charged an extra $50/night for the sixth person."

  • PERFECT for a family getaway!

"Thank you Angela & David for sharing your outstanding home! The house was very clean and well maintained. The amount of space for our blended family of 7 was ideal. The beautiful yard with tons of room also allowed for us to entertain family that we were visiting in the area. During "down time" when we were not on the water, there were plenty of places to retreat & relax, play games (pool & ping pong included), watch a movie or even taken an undisturbed nap. Location is perfect. Jump in the boat or vehicle and we were right into town. Owners have thought of every detail in making your stay comfortable and memorable. Hope to come back again with our family next year!"
