"Aug, 2016. As the other review's state: plenty of room, cleaned weekly and privacy galore (including the beach area, had 1 person walk by in the week we were there). I grew up in the area and knew that was a secluded section of land and beach as we could never go there. Also, everything truly is there that you could need. Just bring your own food and beverage and kick back (especially around the fire pit at night). I would like to again thank Kevin and his folks for sharing this hidden gem with us,"

  • Magnificent!

"My extended family had the joy of staying in this house for one week and it exceeded all of our expectations! The owners were very helpful and have thought of everything to make your stay extremely relaxing. The house was the cleanest we have ever experienced, the kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/towels/spices, the firewood was ready for the fire pit and the patio furniture made sunset watching one of our favorite trip memories! The kids loved playing in the yard while we enjoyed the beautiful lake view. The loft over the garage was perfect for our family and did not disappoint, it was also well stocked and had lovely views as well. The exterior has been landscaped to perfection and leaves you wishing the owners would help you with your own house! The house even has a wonderful grill and picnic tables that made our family reunion dinner one of my favorites! We all highly recommend this house and will stay here again when we make it back to Michigan! There is a great store in Good Hart about 3 miles down the road with homemade pot pies, fruit pies and sandwiches that we visited several times and loved! There are several public beaches just a few miles away that were lovely. This home has it all! Thank you Carol and Tom for sharing your home with us, we had a wonderful family vacation! Stephanie"

  • Excellent location for a family getaway

"We are a family of five including three teenagers ranging from 5'4" to 6'3". We've learned that renting a home is more comfortable and affordable than two rooms or a suite at a hotel or resort. For our trip to Leelanau area, Cedar Cabin was the perfect accommodation. Four bedrooms, a master suite and wireless broadband ensured all had a getaway spot when needed. Everything was functional, well maintained and clean for our arrival. All linens are included and the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and silverwear. The cupboards included a shelf of interesting spices, and above the coffee maker the fixin's for the morning's brew. We left some coffee beans for the next guests. Hint: use the hand grinder for a more even grind! The cabin is located about half way between Cedar, Glen Arbor and Leland ensuring civilization was less than 30 mins away. We spend a day climbing sleeping bear dunes (30 min drive), another kayaking the Platte (40 min drive) and a couple more exploring the parks, lighthouses and wineries of Mission and Leelanau peninsulas. Each was a comfortable day trip allowing for lazy mornings and return for sunset. Speaking of sunset: The deck is guarded by a gargoyle we named "Hank", and offers spectacular views of Little Traverse Lake and Lake Michigan featuring North Manitou Island. We even caught the kids sneaking out to the deck to enjoy the view without the lure of s'mores at the fire pit. If circumstances permit would we return? Absolutely!"
