  • A great time at a well-appointed home in a great location!

"Three generations of ten family members gathered for a week together and had a wonderful time. Kerry was responsive when we had a few questions, and we had a blast using the sunfish and kayaks (and renting double kayaks and having them delivered was no problem either). The downstairs game/TV room was brilliant for a rainy day, and it was just a walk down to the dock for Little Traverse Lake, or a mile on an easy trail to Lake Michigan. Sleeping Bear Dunes was barely ten minutes away, Glen Arbor was as well, and Traverse City only half an hour (when we discovered we needed a late-night urgent care). Great location to do the Leelenau wine circuit. Bedrooms on three levels mean that a level of privacy can be achieved. Only drawback is that the back that the boardwalk runs through is swamp, so if you're looking for a lot of room for kids to be able to run around and play, that's not here - but they'll love the lake so much they won't care, trust me."

  • Fantastic!

""The Boathouse" was absolutely wonderful! The location is great, only about a 15 miniature drive to downtown Cadillac. Myself and 7 other guests had an amazing Memorial Day weekend here, we never even had to leave the cabin, just enjoyed a relaxing stay on the lake. The house looks small on the outside, but it is huge on the inside! Possibly the best part about the stay was the accommodations that Laurie and John provided us with: from a coffee maker and toaster oven all the way laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. This couple truly knows how to take the "packing and worrying about making sure you have everything" out of the vacation planning! All we needed to bring was food & drink. Overall, a great place to stay!"

  • Perfect Perfect

"Sometimes when things don't go exactly as planned, you realize how great a lodging place really is. Mechanical issues happen in everyone's house, and there was a minor problem with the heating system when we arrived. An astoundingly rapid response from the owner, who had a repair company out promptly to fix the problem and later compensate us. Incredibly kind owner who called to followup with us and make sure everything went well. The place was impeccably clean, comfortable, and literally perfect for our family. A few steps down the stairs and we were right in the middle of the adorable town. Our girls were quite excited about the ice cream shop right downstairs too. If you've never been to Leland, it is in an unbeatable fall weekend destination. This particular lodging option would be fantastic during any time of the year, as we are planning a winter get away back to this same place. You will not be disappointed here!"

  • Great area, lovely cabin

"We were delighted to find this gem so close to great Mt biking, canoeing, trail running on North Country Trail. We each had a comfortable room, and kids enjoyed having direct TV access. Traks was a good meal near by, and locals were helpful to give us tips like Tippy Dam. Can't wait to return for XC skiing!"
