  • When you need to get away

"We had a great time on Seagull Lake! The cabin is cute and cozy and very comfortable for our family. The area is beautiful! We mostly canoed around the lake and had luck catching bass, pike, and even found a secret walleye spot not far from the cabin. We also canoed down to the west part of the lake and portaged to Paulson Lake-a VERY rough (but beautiful) portage and worth the work to get there! Everything was better than described and we couldn't have chosen a better place for our vacation. Thank you!"

  • Artist Loft I Grand Marais

"This was a great location for people watching with coffee or cocktail in hand right out front window. This place is nicely decorated with all amenities you would need, plus. It was fun to have a turn table with records to choose from. We had the gunflint restaurant/bar next to Artist loft that had spectacular views from the rooftop bar. Beautiful area and close to gunflint trail. We saw a beer crossing the road, went fishing and grouse hunting. Just had an enjoyable time thanks to location and very comfortable beds. Will have to stay here again."

  • Beautiful & Peaceful

"My wife and I spent a lovely, quiet fall weekend here in the Guest House, and we absolutely loved it! The property is beautifully secluded on a small point on the Lake, providing an excellent view of Superior, which is quite close, from expansive and finely trimmed arched windows. Somehow the designer managed to incorporate nearly wall to wall windows on three sides with a feeling of comfortable coziness, highlighted by the wood stove in the main room. The kitchen is neat, with a gas range and a window above the sink overlooking the Lake. The bedroom has a lot of closet space, and a huge bed which was very comfortable. We slept like we were at home. The furniture is a bit sparse - a love seat and a couple of plush recliners came to mind as desirable as we were sitting in front of the fire - but the cushioned chairs provided were very comfortable. We had a pleasant evening campfire on a rock slab along the beach, and the stars were unbelievably distinct, particularly the Milky Way. We also were able to enjoy the sunrise and moonrise over the Lake which, along with the rolling waves - some days gentle, some days crashing into the rocks gloriously - was just what we had in mind when we considered staying here. We really did not want to leave, and actually spent some time looking at nearby properties which are for sale, because the location (near Horseshoe Bay) is so choice for those wishing to experience the fullness of Minnesota's North Shore environment."

  • The property was very nice and well kept.

"Maybe it would be good to mention that there are steps from the lower level living room up to the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. There is no railing there and we were staying with my 90 year old mother in law. We needed to help her on those steps each time. I guess that we knew there would be steps into the property but didn't really notice that there were more steps in the pictures of the property. Never would have noticed or even thought about this if she would not have been with us. Just a thought to mention it."
