  • When you need to get away

"We had a great time on Seagull Lake! The cabin is cute and cozy and very comfortable for our family. The area is beautiful! We mostly canoed around the lake and had luck catching bass, pike, and even found a secret walleye spot not far from the cabin. We also canoed down to the west part of the lake and portaged to Paulson Lake-a VERY rough (but beautiful) portage and worth the work to get there! Everything was better than described and we couldn't have chosen a better place for our vacation. Thank you!"

  • Anniversary

"My husband and I spent our 33rd anniversary at this beautiful cabin. We had a wonderful time and it was the most relaxing vacation I have had in a long time! The view is spectacular, we enjoyed the private beach, fire ring and open atmosphere. If you are looking for a peaceful, private place with magnificent lake views...this is the place for you!!"

  • Nature lovers' delight!

"This tiny cottage is a true hideaway. If you want solitude and just get as far away as possible from the rat race - this is the place to be. This place and the entire North Shore is truly for nature lovers - love hiking, waterfalls or hunting for agates or just rocks - this is the perfect place for it. We appreciated that they had wi-fi and satellite TV with tons of channels. The owner makes sure that you have everything you need to make your own delicious meals. I was happy that I could take my dog with me and leave him kenneled if needed during the day. We visited Ontario and Isle Royale during our stay and loved that we could come back to our temporary tiny home after a busy day. There is nothing like having Lake Superior not even 40 feet away from your front door. Just a few reminders - the bathroom does not have a real door - just a curtain - if you open the tiny window and turn on the vent to the shower there really is no issue with the smell. The cabin has heat but no A/C - I had to turn on the heat in July because it got down to 52 one morning in the cabin with all the windows closed. If you like to fish - you can't really catch anything if you cast right out to the lake from the shore but if you bring a kayak with you and paddle out for a few hundred feet on a calm day - your chances might be better. The best fishing I've ever experienced around here is in the BWCA and it is truly worth the short drive to get there. The owner has 2 very friendly dogs but I rarely saw them during our stay. Ultimately, what I really enjoyed was the sense of being in nature with the amenities of being indoors - that is the biggest draw for me of this cabin. Also, Grand Marais is about 22 minutes or 19 miles away. If you need groceries, gas, want to eat out or do your laundry that would be your best bet."

  • It was just as it was described - beatuiful, clean and we're coming back in October.

"Our friends from overseas had a lovely time and enjoyed canoeing and kayaking on the Pike Lake. It was close to town and we enjoyed our time tremendously. It was very relaxing. I would highly recommend this very nice cabin. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating."
