  • Beautiful Cabin in the Woods

"My group of friends wanted a comfortable place to relax, and enjoy ourselves after a few days of skiing at Lutsen. I'm pleased to say this cabin was wonderful to stay at, it felt very much like a family cabin, but with some up-scale touches like the nice entertainment room in the basement with satellite TV, and in-floor heating in every room. The cabin was very clean, and the groundskeeper stopped by the second night there to make sure we had everything we needed, very courteous touch. After this experience, I am definitely considering coming back next year for our annual ski trip!"

  • Wonderful place for a family gathering

"My family spent 6 days at the cabin. We had seven adults and four children, and we had plenty of room for everyone. The layout is great because we could use baby monitors in the bedrooms so we could hear what was happening while we read, played games, or talked in other parts of the house. The kids were able to get to sleep without our conversations disturbing them. There are plenty of board games for rainy times. The yard is large enough for tossing frisbees or kicking around a soccer ball. Several people went out in the canoes and kayak. We all enjoyed sitting on the dock and just relaxing. There were even a pair of loons and a baby that we heard often and saw close-up several times. We could all gather around the dining table for meals and weren't cramped at all. There is a deck, screened porch, game room, reading areas, tv viewing spot. Grand Marais isn't far away so we were able to get groceries, treat ourselves to donuts, walk to the lighthouse, and poke around in the shops. The cabin has plenty of bath and kitchen linens, pots and pans, glassware, silverware, and dishware. We were happy to find a half bath conveniently located near the dining room because we had a couple preschoolers in the group, and we were a little worried that they might have to make it to one of the bathrooms in the bedroom wings when they needed to get to a potty quickly. Not a problem. One thing we would have appreciated is some labels on the light switches. We never did figure out what some of them turned on, and we were often flummoxed about which switch turned on the overhead lights in the game room! Eventually managed to find them. Brian always responded to email messages promptly and answered questions thoroughly. We highly recommend his home."

  • Spectacular scenery with Charming accommodations

"We were so fortunate to have discovered this vacation home! It was so charming - an idyllic North Shore cabin! Very clean and spacious too. Lutsen and surrounding towns are wonderful. The food, shopping, scenery and outdoor activities are second to none. We especially enjoyed Hughies Tacos and Cook County Whole Foods Cafe in Grand Marais and Moguls Grille & Tap Room in Lutsen. We were very impressed with the skiing at Lutsen Mountain as well. We are already planning our next stay and are excited to share it with our children this time too."

  • Exceeded expectations!

"This is such a great getaway! Our family loved canoeing and kayaking around Seagull Lake - we were surprised at how many islands it included. We explored new areas each day. Highlights were canoeing to island for picnic, kayaking to public beach nearby to play in the sand. Hiking and picking wild raspberries and blueberries at nearby ChikWauk Nature Center. We were impressed with Seagull Outfitters for add'l kayak rental just across the lake and kids loved canoeing there to get a treat. Home was very comfortable, had everything we needed and more. The screened porch and outdoor porch were much roomier than we expected. Amazing stargazing opportunities. Also enjoyed meal at Gunflint Lodge and others nearby. We were all thrilled to see Mama moose and baby, bald eagles, loons and more. Cabin is quite a distance from town of Grand Marais, but was just the retreat we were looking for. Judy could not have been more helpful. We hope to take advantage of this great cabin again. Amazing family memories."
