  • Quiet Little Cabin on the Lake

"The listing description was accurate. The property was clean and well-maintained. Karen and Bill provided good customer service and were friendly. This is a very small resort somewhat off the beaten path yet close to everything you want to do and just a short drive to Bagnell Dam. Our cabin included 2 bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen-living room area. The accommodation had a true cabin feel due to the retro style furniture, paneling and wall art. Fresh linens were on the beds, although the fitted sheet had lots of lint balls. However, I sleep like a rock and my boyfriend wears pajamas so the sheets were not an issue for us but might be for others. The bed was big and comfortable. The pillows were not thick but we were fine using the pillows from all 3 beds. The fact that we could bring our dogs and smoke inside the cabin were huge pluses. The cabin was clean except for some bugs in a couple corners and behind the kitchen sink faucet, which was of no concern considering the surrounding woodsy area. We were provided a minimal yet sufficient amount of plastic dishes, silverware and pots and pans. If the max number of guests stayed, the dishes and silverware would not have been enough, although maybe more would have been provided. There were 2 rolls of toilet paper, a small amount of dish soap, a dish cloth, and 2 trash bags. The air conditioners worked great. The pool is located directly across from the cabins and reachable in just a short walk. It was large and the water was sparkling clean. There was a pavilion next to the pool with chairs, tables, and a soda machine. Very nice. There were also horseshoe pits, a swing set, and sand volleyball. The boat ramp to the lake was also directly across from the cabins. There were 2 quaint bridges crossing a gently running creek leading to walking paths in the woods. Lots of great places to walk the dogs! This resort was quiet and private, which we loved. The cabin included a microwave, refrigerator, stove/oven, coffee pot and toaster. The shower was a large walk in. Water pressure was not great but hot water was abundant. This place is casual, which was right up our alley. The cabin had rock walls outside and indoors, which were visually pleasing. We plan to stay here next time we visit the lake and will recommend it to our family and friends. It's not a 5 star hotel and the cabin was not perfect, but it was JUST RIGHT for us and we LOVED IT! Can't wait to come back!"

  • Family get together

"For the last several years my sister, brother, cousin and I plus our spouses get together for a few days at the lake in the fall. We have stayed at a number of different places with most being nice. This year we needed to find a new place to stay as there were only going to be six of us. From the listing description this house appeared to be the right size to accommodate our needs. It did not disappoint. It worked quite well and was very comfortable for six adults. The house is well kept, well appointed, and quite clean. The outdoor amenities were also nice with the gazebo being a nice touch that we enjoyed. One thing that is not mentioned in the description that we enjoyed is the exceptional lake view. The opposite shore of the lake is a wooded bluff with no homes or docks. With the trees starting to turn color this made for very nice view from the sunroom, deck, or gazebo. There was quite a bit of wild life to view also, ducks, gulls, blue heron (like to perch on the dock) and even some pelicans. The other thing we enjoyed was the lack of big boats running up and down the lake. Do not know what it is like in the summer but during our visit most of the boat traffic was limited to an occasional bass boat or ski boat which made for a much quieter and more enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend at this property. For us it was a exceptional value for the rental cost. Mike S."

  • Awesome House With More Space Than You Pay For!

"We rented this property for a weekend for a group of 11 friends. This property is actually two houses connected by decks and you get 2 docks (one of which has a rope swing :) ). It was more than enough room for all of us and we had a blast. The decks are spacious, same goes for the docks. The cove is quiet and very pretty. Bedrooms are comfy and provide plenty of space. The owner was very responsive, flexible and laid back. Very easy to deal with. There's really nothing negative I can say about this property. Make sure to bring charcoal, matches and lighter fluid for the grill! We're already talking about getting it for next year!"
