  • Very basic but quaint cottage near Whiteface

"Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the house. It's a basic house, but we knew that going in, and it's therefore priced accordingly. Most important thing for us was its proximity to Whiteface, which was about 15 mins away. Pros - Close to Whiteface mountain, which you could see from the house, which was the point of the trip. The house was comfortable and clean, and the kitchen was stocked with what we needed to be able to cook. It's on a road, but it's a very quiet road, and has a nice big back yard. Communication with the owners were easy, they were friendly and responsive. Cons - Nothing really hidden here, but just keep in mind it is a very basic house. No wifi (but Verizon works). The grill is a coal grill and not gas. The fireplace also is not a real fireplace, but rather an electric one. Only one bathroom. I'd also recommend to the owners that for the room with the double bed, the heater in that room did not work, so it got very cold at night, plus having a carpet on the floor of that room would help to keep in warm in the winter, as the floor was very cold. Also an added chair in that room to put a few things on plus some hangers in the closet to hang up clothes would be nice -- we had to leave our clothes in our bags on the floor."

  • Scenic Getaway - Amazing TIme

"The property is very well kept, maintained and supplied. We had plenty of space and things to do for the two of us and our dog. We used everything the house had to offer: kayaks, porches, tennis court, yard chairs, the dock. The owners were friendly and clearly take pride in the property. They checked in with us to make sure we were having a good time and sent us hiking suggestions which we followed to Rattlesnake Mountain; you can see it from the dock. Open mic night at the bowling alley (WBC) was a great time and we actually bowled later in the week too (great music!). The ferry to Burlington, VT is only 30 minutes north in Port Kent. When you choose to stay here Ausable Brewing Company is a must. All in all, a beautiful lakefront cottage that only leaves you wanting a longer vacation."

  • Perfect Winter Getaway Location

"We have rented with Renata in the past at another property and returned this year to a new location, Pocomoonshine. As always, the reservation process with Renata was effortless and quick. Renata is a professional and clearly outlines the process as well as confirming reservations with directions, etc. Pocomoonshine is an adorable home in a quiet lake front community on a private drive that is well maintained. We love that we can bring the dogs as they enjoy the vacation just as much as we do. The house is incredibly cozy with the wood fireplace, full stocked kitchen and adorable porch with hammock swing. The hot tub is a nice touch, especially in the winter months. We were able to walk the dogs around the neighborhood with no trouble and were in close distance to many sight seeing areas. We were able to take an afternoon trip over to Burlington, VT which was a lot of fun. We will be returning to Pocomoonshine again in the winter. P.S. The record player and vintage records was really a lot of fun while drinking some beers, playing uno and relaxing in front of the fire with the dogs! A perfect retreat. Thank you, Renata."

  • The location is stunning and the house charming, comfortable and with all essentials provided.

"We had a great few days at the Little Stone Cottage. Robbin met us at arrival and provided a great overview of the property and the house. She made it clear that we should reach out to her if we needed anything at all or had questions, which was great. The house is charming and as noted above the location is superb, with a sweeping view of Willsboro Bay out to Lake Champlain. You really could not have a better spot in the Bay, with lots of fresh air circulating through the house day and night. It's a very private spot as well, which really felt like a special time away. I could easily envision staying there a week or more. The few neighbors were gracious with their waves as we passed by. All essential needs were addressed, the furniture and beds were comfortable for our stay, the outdoor space inviting. I don't know the history of the house but you can feel it has one which makes it that much more special. Towels and linens provided felt like you were in a boutique hotel. For those like us with small children, the stairs to the bedrooms are a bit steep so exercise care. We did not have a problem with it and our daughters loved climbing the stairs, but of course as parents you worry. Next time we might bring a child gate for our little one. We very much felt like we were welcome visitors in someone else's home and the only request of us was that we enjoy ourselves and what the property has to offer. What could be better? Jim"
