  • Paradise on Tupper Lake

"This is an exquisite property beautifully managed right on Tupper Lake. It's perfect for a large family gathering or group rental. The large kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed, included three different seating areas: one in the kitchen itself; a kitchen counter with stools, and a large dining room table next to the kitchen. The bedrooms are comfortable, with good bed and bed linens, and many overlook the lake. We were there over the New Year's holidays, when snow blanketed the frozen lake and property, but the property was accessible and the roads kept clear on a regular basis. It's about a 10 to 15 minute drive into the center of Tupper Lake village where there's a well-stocked IGA supermarket. It's about 50 minutes from Lake Placid. Although there are other homes on the road leading to the house, you don't see them, and the privacy is excellent. It's so peaceful, so quiet, with beautiful views from every window. Our favorite room was the 2nd floor library overlooking the lake, with books on floor-to-ceiling shelves on all four walls, giving it a real manor house feel. Craig has furnished the house with antiques and Adirondack-style furniture. He is the perfect host, knowledgeable about the area, helpful in every way. I can't wait to visit again, and recommend it without reservation."

  • "WOW!"

"When we seen the pictures we instantly thought this would be a fit for a family getaway, little did we know we would fall in love with this place! We had such a great time. The house was beautiful, clean and kept updated. I would recommend this location to anyone! A huge thank you to the homeowners for providing us with all the information we could ask. You drive through a cute small town to get to the house. The views are absolutely breath taking! We cannot wait to book again next year!"

  • Mange Takk is really simply Heaven.

"Mange Takk is a very beautiful house, it was more spacious that it appeared on the pictures. The house was very clean and very well-maintained. Our group kept admiring its beautiful architecture. Ed was fabulous, the best owner I've ever dealt with, he even hung a Canadian flag at the entrance of the house to welcome our canuck group. I highly recommend staying at the beautiful house. We were a group of 10, hiking the Santanoni Range of the Adirondacks. We will definitely be back to stay on our return to hike the Southern range of Dix."

  • Amazing week on Eagle Lake!

"Every two years four generations of my extended family get together, usually in the Adirondacks, for a weeklong reunion. Since the family has been growing, we’ve grown out of the large home we previously rented and have, on occasion, resorted to renting multiple houses in the same area. This summer we stayed at Eagle Nest for the first time and we could not have been happier with that decision. Despite the large size of our group, there was more than enough space for all of us and we enjoyed the benefit of the very large living spaces so we could all be together in the dining room, on the deck, in the living room, and down by the boathouse. There was a ton to do for everyone in the family right on-site. I literally parked the car after unpacking and never got back in it until we left a week later. We rented a ski boat, kayaks and a pontoon boat from The Boat Livery and kept them docked at the boat house and used them all week. We played tennis daily and set up badminton in the open area next to the court. We rented mountain bikes for the adults and kids that were dropped off when we arrived and picked up before we left. The adults enjoyed the trails with the bikes and the kids wore out the roads and circular driveways in front of the main and guesthouses. We canoed and kayaked across all three lakes; Eagle, Blue Mountain, and Uttowanna. In the middle of our stay many of the adults enjoyed massages right on-site. We also set up seaplane rides with Tom Helms, who landed right on Uttowanna lake and taxied right up to the dock at the hangar, on property a mile down the driveway from the main house. In the evenings, we took turns making use of the huge kitchen and walk-in fridge to make dinners for the entire group. The kitchen had just about everything we needed from two ovens, two refrigerators, two dishwashers, and plenty of glasses and utensils to the industrial size coffee maker. We had plenty of space to spread out and eat in the dining room and covered deck directly off of it. Overall we had an amazing week at Eagle Nest and if we can make it happen, we’ll be back."
