  • A lovely property with great facilities and space

"We booked this for a vacation for our extended family, and were looking specifically for somewhere near a lake but not necessarily right on the water. it worked out brilliantly. Christine the owner was kind, helpful, polite and very responsive. We had eight adults, in four couples, and a baby with us and there was plenty of space and beds for everyone. The house officially takes 20+ people and it was very comfortable for 9, with two sitting rooms, a dining room, plenty of outdoor furniture, and four large double bedrooms, a smaller double, and a single. There was a cot for the baby, enormous amounts of bedding and towels available, and plenty of comfortable places to sit. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans and knives, the oven was easy to use, and it was well-kept and clean. Because the house can be used for large groups, there were two fridge-freezers which was great as well as a barbecue on the patio. It was easy to cook for large groups in the spacious kitchen and there was a dishwasher, meaning that the cleaning up was pretty easy. As had a 14 month old child with us, we wanted to make sure he'd be safe outside and that we would all be able to enjoy the water. The garden is huge - a long rolling lawn with a basketball hoop, benches and firepit. There's a short walk through a neighboring garden to get to the private dock and that proved ideal. The house has a pair of canoes and paddles, which we took out on the lake several times. Owasco Lake itself has quite a stony shore, but it was still possible to swim off the dock provided you wore waterproof shoes (recommended!). There's a number of very good restaurants in Auburn - we particularly liked Moro's Table (fancy & French), Lasca's (family friendly, excellent Italian trattoria), and Green Shutters (diner-style restaurant with outdoor seating and lots of ice cream choices). The Long Point State Park near the picturesque town of Aurora on Cayuga Lake and the pretty town of Skaneateles both offered good days out. We would highly recommend this place for any family or large group looking for a comfortable, clean, pleasant place to stay in the Finger Lakes. It was lovely."

  • Beautiful house that was very clean and accommodating for large groups.

"We had a great relaxing week at the lake. Sharon has everything you need in the house and at the lake. Our girls loved using the kayaks, pattleboards and row boat. The fishing was good even off the dock. The house is very dog friendly even with a gate on the giant porch."

  • Perfect for our large family

"This was the third year we've stayed here. Our family comes from Texas and California, and NYC, do the numerous beds are needed. The huge main room, with pool table is always a big hit. The whole house offers alternative places for entertainment when the weather it poor. We intend to return next year."

  • Great vacation spot!

"We enjoyed our family vacation time here. The lake is absolutely beautiful. The waterside deck spacious and nice. Fishing off the deck was very enjoyable. Caught and release many fish. The deck on the home was a favorite family hangout. The area was quiet and the neighbors friendly. The owner met all of our needs very timely. Renting a pontoon boat for 2 days was great. The marina was very helpful."
