  • Very well maintained property, lots of activities!

"My family and I had a great experience here (no thanks to the weather!). We were in need of a getaway, and found it here. Sharon is very hospitable, just like the house we stayed in. TONS of provided activities, which helped us get through 4 days of straight rain and colder fall weather as it arrived. On the 2 nice days we had while there, we made a fire, walked to the water on the large water front area, and hiked a bit in the woods. We also hung out on the uncovered portion of the wrap around porch as the sun set over the lake. When it was not as nice out, we for the most part hung out by the beautiful fireplace and even braved it on the covered portion of the porch for some games outside. The greedy side of me wants to keep this place a secret so I won't have issues booking next time, but I can't keep others from enjoying. Highly recommended for those who enjoy nature and family time!"

  • Very relaxing and quiet.

"We stayed a week and had the most relaxing vacation ever. The house is cozy and has everything we needed. We had a problem with the refrigerator not working on the first day but was assured by Christine the problem was freezing and would be OK overnight. It was and we were compensated for our trouble. If you are looking for a relaxing quiet vacation this is it. Thank you Christine."

  • A lovely property with great facilities and space

"We booked this for a vacation for our extended family, and were looking specifically for somewhere near a lake but not necessarily right on the water. it worked out brilliantly. Christine the owner was kind, helpful, polite and very responsive. We had eight adults, in four couples, and a baby with us and there was plenty of space and beds for everyone. The house officially takes 20+ people and it was very comfortable for 9, with two sitting rooms, a dining room, plenty of outdoor furniture, and four large double bedrooms, a smaller double, and a single. There was a cot for the baby, enormous amounts of bedding and towels available, and plenty of comfortable places to sit. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans and knives, the oven was easy to use, and it was well-kept and clean. Because the house can be used for large groups, there were two fridge-freezers which was great as well as a barbecue on the patio. It was easy to cook for large groups in the spacious kitchen and there was a dishwasher, meaning that the cleaning up was pretty easy. As had a 14 month old child with us, we wanted to make sure he'd be safe outside and that we would all be able to enjoy the water. The garden is huge - a long rolling lawn with a basketball hoop, benches and firepit. There's a short walk through a neighboring garden to get to the private dock and that proved ideal. The house has a pair of canoes and paddles, which we took out on the lake several times. Owasco Lake itself has quite a stony shore, but it was still possible to swim off the dock provided you wore waterproof shoes (recommended!). There's a number of very good restaurants in Auburn - we particularly liked Moro's Table (fancy & French), Lasca's (family friendly, excellent Italian trattoria), and Green Shutters (diner-style restaurant with outdoor seating and lots of ice cream choices). The Long Point State Park near the picturesque town of Aurora on Cayuga Lake and the pretty town of Skaneateles both offered good days out. We would highly recommend this place for any family or large group looking for a comfortable, clean, pleasant place to stay in the Finger Lakes. It was lovely."

  • Nice rental house for vacation

"We stayed here for a long weekend at the end of August. The house is on a secluded drive and right on the river. We were visiting family and it was the perfect location for everyone to meet and hang out. There is lots of outdoor seating, a grill, a firepit, a dock, and a big backyard. Our dog really enjoyed all the space! We borrowed kayaks from friends and I would recommend doing that if you can. The bedrooms were great, there were AC units in two out of the three but it was cool enough at night that we didn't need them. The living room is very comfortable and the kitchen has all you need to cook/clean. Overall if was a great house and location. The only downside was that the river was kind of mucky so bring water shoes if you want to go into the river."
