  • Home Away From Home

"My fiancé, 18 month old son and I had the pleasure of spending a month in this home between September and October, truly making this our home away from home. The location of the house was perfect for our needs. Close enough to the towns with plenty of activity, such as Great Barrington and Lenox but far enough away that we felt as though we had our space. West Stockbridge is a quiet town, which is one of the reasons we chose this location. We frequented No 6 Depot (great coffee and lunch items) but mainly went into GB for dinners, hikes, etc. It ends up being about a 20 minute drive so we were able to go back and forth easily. Stockbridge is even closer for museums like Norman Rockwell and Chesterwood. The home itself was up to date where it counted but has a rustic feel to it which was appropriate considering the age of the home. If you are looking for a completely modern experience, this isn't the place for you. The house has a ton of character from the beautiful beams to the old doors and handles. Coming from South Florida where everything is "new" it was a welcomed change. My fiancé is a former chef and the kitchen was right on point from the stove to the supplies provided. I think he cooked more in that month than the rest of the year combined! Our son loved the amount of property outside - he was given the chance to run around, play in the leaves, sandbox and a few times he took on the slide. I was able to work from the house and never had issues with the wifi or phone service. The views from the home are so serene; we even had a day where we had a picture perfect view of a rainbow over the mountain just before sunset. We are kind of wimps with cold weather but we did have one or two nights where we braved it for some fantastic star gazing on the hammock! The only "issues" we had was that some of the furniture needed a bit of sprucing up, which sounds like is being done this year. Any other issue that arose was responsed to right away by Claudia's team but we didn't encounter anything major over the course of the month that wasn't livable. My family is so excited to return next fall!"

  • Second Stay Even Better!

"We just enjoyed our second stay at this wonderful home! Again, everything we could ever need or want for is right there. The fall foliage, the Hudson River and Catskill Mountain views changed from sunrise to sunset and couldn't have been more beautiful. Mary Ellen and Jack are consummate hosts. They truly care, and enjoy, that WE enjoyed the home they generously share. I cannot say enough about this immaculate, well designed, comfortably furnished, fully stocked, relaxing oasis. Only minutes from all Hudson has to offer with great restaurants, shopping and history...this amazing vacation rental has it all...the views and privacy are the icing on the cake. The property/landscape alone is so well cared for and a treat all its own - we never wanted to leave. You just can't get all of that in any local B and B or hotel. Location, location, location!! We hope to return again and again to our "home" on the Hudson. Maybe, one day, our dream home will be available for us to buy...hint, hint...if only!!"

  • Photos don't do this home justice! Wonderful relaxing stay.

"Martin and Christa were so hospitable and generous! The house was enormous and spotless, beds were very comfortable, and fireplace and couches made the living room so comfy! We were a group of 10 friends/couples in our late 20s and spent New Years at this home. Plenty of room for us. For skiing, Catamount was very close and Butternut about a half hour away. House is on a hill with spectacular views of the farm. Kitchen is stocked with anything you'd need. Front porch lets you enjoy the views with a cup of coffee. Plenty of privacy, would definitely rent again! Thank you so much Martin and Christa!"
