  • great apartment for families

"What a great find! We spent a week in NYC with our three kids and this apartment gave us everything we expected and needed as it's very difficult to find a midtown hotel that can accommodate five people in a single room for any sort of semi-reasonable cost. It's quite large for NYC so we had plenty of space and each of the kids had their own sofa/bed with a private bedroom for us parents. Very clean with ample linens and a relatively large kitchen. A/C worked well, which was a true blessing as it was 90s and humid the week we were there. While the space is definitely a luxury in Manhattan, I'm not sure I would describe the apartment as "luxurious" but it was more than comfortable and we were quite happy with it. Location could not be more perfect. Smack in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, so there are unique restaurants lining 8th and 9th Aves to suit any taste from take out to casual sit down to fancy. There are several markets within a few minutes walk which we used for breakfasting in the apartment before heading out for the day. Three different subway stops within about a 10 minute walk, even with little kid legs. The building and street were quiet and felt completely safe and the lobby staff were happy to help with any questions. We could walk to Central Park, Times Square/Broadway theaters, MoMA, and the Intrepid Museum easily and took the subway to anywhere else we wanted to go. Owners were very responsive with arrangements and questions ahead of time, and always followed up quickly. Kitchen equipment (pots, knives, etc.) is a bit on the sparse side so maybe don't expect to cook any gourmet meals. But I would return in a heartbeat!"

  • A very well maintained brownstone in west Harlem!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay in W Harlem at Bill's place. Bill was very helpful and informative on our arrival! We were close to the main subway line and once you figure the subway out it is the cheapest way to get around the city! We Found taxis to be cheaper than über when we needed to go to the theater. There is a grocery store and CVS 3 blocks away right off the subway. If you have trouble climbing steps this isn't the place for you as there are several steep stairs. This was not a problem for us though. Thank you Bill for a great place to stay in NYC!"
