  • Beautiful Getaway with my Family

"My family really enjoyed our stay at A White Tail Ridge cabin. It had all the amenities you'd expect in a cozy cabin, and a few that surprised me. I planned to make a crock pot supper one night, but forgot my crock pot in the rush to get out the door. To my delight, the cabin even had a crock pot, so I was able to make my chicken and dumplings while we leisurely tooled around Foscoe. The real fireplace was my husband's favorite, and my son loved the foosball table. We also enjoyed all the movies, particularly Fletch and Flightplan. The cabin is expertly decorated, comfortable, (except the pillows - remember to bring your own - that was another thing we forgot), and cozy. One other thing I didn't pack was a hair dryer, and there wasn't one there."

  • Great location!

"This house was beautiful inside, we loved sliding around on the hardwood floors in our socks. The kitchen was great, rooms were spacious, and not cluttered at all. We had so much fun five days just wasn't enough, and we hope to return to this house in the winter. That being said it needed to be cleaned before my family could settle in. The beds weren't made and looked as if someone just got out of bed before we arrived. I had to wash the sheets before we could sleep on them because they weren't laundered, not a big deal for me but it would've been nice not to have to clean. The owner was very responsive and sweet. You won't regret staying here we absolutely loved it."

  • Fantastic Cabin and Location

"We had a wonderful 4th of July stay. The cabin is very well stocked with everything you need. Just bring your own food and hot tub towels. The location is great. Convenient to Beech Mountain attractions and Banner Elk events as well. We loved the hot tub and the outdoor fire pit. Wrap around porch with rocking chairs was a great place to relax or read. There was also a grill, complete with utensils, that was perfect for BBQ and to grill fresh produce from the local markets. It was very nice to have two bathrooms too. The owners, especially Chris, was very responsive. She made a point of checking in to make sure everything was going well and was happy to answer any questions I had. A completely delightful experience all the way around. Would love to visit this cabin again and would look forward to working with Chris."

  • Loved the house! Great location and amenities

"We drove up from Florida to enjoy the snow over MLK weekend with our boys (11&12 yrs old). The house was beautiful and had plenty of room with 3 bedrooms and loft (loved having 3 bathrooms too!). The furniture, bedding and towels were of great quality. The décor looks rich and very stylish, never would guess it is a rental or that it allows dogs. The home was well stocked with items to get us started (paper goods, wood, etc). It was record cold (-12 degrees and windy) and the home was as warm as we wanted it to be in each room and well insulated and quiet. We loved that it was not a busy road with a lot of traffic, and enjoyed taking the dog out and walking down the road to the slopes to meet the boys. It really is a short walk to the end of the block, and you can hike down a little trail and jump onto the slopes if you are experienced and comfortable on that terrain (would not recommend for new skiers or small children). Kitchen was well stocked with pots, dinnerware, glasses and all the utensils we needed- even when we had another family of 4 join us for dinner/lunch. Plenty of room for the kids to play, watch movies or just relax. It is a 5 minute drive to the Beech parking lot, and 2 mins in the other direction from Freds Mercantile and the sledding hill. Perfect location and easy to get in and out w/out 4 wheel drive- even when we had snow and ice. Darrell was very accommodating, friendly and helpful giving directions, recommendations for eating and shopping and having the home ready for us. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this rental. One of the best we've ever rented- no complaints or recommendations to change a thing!"
