  • Fun at the Nest

"Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent three nights at the Byrd's Nest. My husband and I had the first floor Master. I would have preferred a king size bed but otherwise it had everything we needed. It has a rustic feel with all the wood trim but has the amenities of a newer home. Our two year old grand daughter and her parents had the upstairs where there are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It was perfect for them. It may have been crowded sharing the bathroom if more people had been there. The house had a very cute old time high chair that worked perfectly for the baby. I wish they had a Packnplay which would have saved us some space in packing in the car. There is a Mr. Coffee coffee maker with filters supplied. The house was well stocked with paper products and cleaning supplies. We didn't have time to use the hot tub but it looked great and the views off of the decks are very nice. I loved rocking in the porch swing and the rocking chairs. The living room space was perfect for us but again might be a little small for a large group of people. My granddaughter and I had fun counting all of the "birds" in the house although at first she was scared of them. The drive up the mountain to the house is a bit treacherous. I can't imagine doing it in the winter. If you go at night for the first time it might be a bit hard to find but I'm guessing most of the houses are that way. All in all, we enjoyed the Byrd's Nest and it met our needs. I would go back again."

  • Beautiful home, great location

"This was our second stay here in this beautiful home. We like that is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Black Mountain is a cute, fun town, grocery store is close & there are great restaurants! Phil's Barbecue & Gondoliers Pizza are our favorites, Dripolator has really good coffee. We stayed here to ride our motorcycle--wonderful roads to ride, many places to go!! (we put 1500 miles on in a week! ) While the house is very nice, we had some issues with lighting & the Jacuzzi tub. There are not a lot of "staples" provided in the kitchen. It was clean & comfortable with plenty of room--my favorite is the sun room!! The deck is a wonderful, quiet place to eat & enjoy the sounds of all the birds. On our last day, we enjoyed seeing a mama bear & her two cubs in the driveway!! What a sight~~ and so cute!! :) I think you would enjoy this home, Ed is easy to work with & usually responds quickly to any questions. We hope to return here again!!"

  • Great Get Away and Family Visit

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location of the rental: walking distance to Black Mountain (great eating and shopping), 20 minutes to Biltmore, 15 minutes to Asheville. Was great relaxing on front porch rockers in the morning and evening. Two issues: TV needs to be replaced (color is bad/blue line in screen) and one rocker has a broken seat. Would recommend staying at Sweet Hydrangea great time for everyone."

  • Paradise High in the Mountains!

"This cabin was such a treat for my wife and I! We haven't been in the area in years and when we were, it was with our children. This time, it was just the two of us. The cabin was spotless, smelled fresh and clean, and it lacked absolutely nothing! Each day, we went on an adventure. Everything was an easy day-trip and we enjoyed returning to our little slice of heaven in the woods. The front porch was a great place for a morning cup of coffee or an evening in the hot tub. I can't wait to come back here."
