  • Relaxing!

"Everyone enjoyed their stay at the Highrock Preserve. The layout of the home was great with one bedroom upstairs, one on the main floor, and one downstairs. Kitchen, dining room, and living room with gas fireplace were nice. Appliances all worked well. Deck, grill, and jacuzzi were great, as were the air hockey, foosball, games, and horseshoes out by the pond. Location was perfect - not too far, not too close - and in less than half hour proximity to good hiking trails and civilization (Asheville breweries, town, etc.). Good open space outside with grass for walking Elvis, or for exploring nearby! Everything was pretty much as expected, clean, and maintained. I'd certainly recommend to family and friends. My only recommendation for improvement would be to replace the bed mattresses (upstairs/main floors) as they were quite soft."

  • Amazing views! You'll love it (but come prepared)

"My girlfriend and I booked this property for a romantic getaway to enjoy the fall foliage and apple season in Black Mountain. This property delivers, believe me. The fall colors and the sounds of the wind rustling through the leaves will melt years of stress off of you. You can see from Hendersonville to Black Mountain and have a private deck with no sign of anyone around (you might possibly be able to see the road below in the winter, not sure, but it's still a spectacular view). It was very windy the first night we arrived so the deck was great for brief excursions more than sitting in relaxing (the wind can really rip through the gorge!), but the view from the living room is just as good and when the wind dies down the deck is hard to beat. You don't need to go anywhere else during your trip to have an amazing time. A couple notes of caution - the property (at the time of this writing) is for sale and because of that I think they've cleared out some of the things you typically find in cabin rentals. There are plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, etc but there are *NO* pantry staples at all. Make sure you bring everything you need the first night (cooking oil, paper towels, sugar, spices, charcoal for the grill, wood for the outdoor fire pit) as well as any OTC meds and bath soap (there was only hand soap available). It also appears many of the board games have been removed from downstairs so prepare if you have easily bored kiddos. If not you may have to make a 30 min trek back into town for essentials (I doubt domino's delivers). If you follow this advice you won't have a care in the world! Thanks for sharing such a great property with us!"

  • Quiet and close

"My husband, daughter and I stayed here for the Spartan race back in August. We thoroughly enjoyed the calm and quiet that this cabin offered. It was also nice to have the foam topper for the couch pull out bed since the mattresses for those are so thin. Very comfortable cabin, well stocked kitchen and nice bathroom. Also loved the sample of local honey left as a gift from the owners! Thanks for a great experience!"
