  • Quaint, homey residence close to everything!

"Pros: Amazing location, easy to get to and from. Nice, clean little place. Cons: Only 1 bathroom. We were there nigh season so it was not cheap. I could complain about little things, such as the porch was not swept prior to arrival, but then again it was fall. Thank you!"

  • Fantastic in so many ways!

"I don't even know where to begin. This will go down as one of our favorite family vacations! The cabin, the property, the owners all A+. To start, the pictures do not do this cabin justice. We loved it. It is super cozy and perfect for us, our two children and two dogs. We loved working with the real log fire place and the views were amazing from inside and out. The kids enjoyed the downstairs as well. Hot tubbing in the snow was a big hit too. The bottle of wine was such a nice touch! We were all sad to leave our "home" when it was time to go. We have done a lot of cabins over time and what I enjoyed here was the property. We loved exploring! There was one day when we didn't leave the property and just spent the day on the trails enjoying the property, our dogs and our family. The location is nice as well. Close to town but far from the hustle and bustle. Perfect. Mike was super helpful before and during our stay. I always have a million questions and he was always there to help. He even brought sleds over for the Florida kids which definitely created some lifelong and hilarious memories! We can't thank you enough! Being from Florida we were blessed to get to experience a winter storm. We tubed in Ober, Gatlinburg (worth the two hour drive) and hiked Greybeards and Catawba Falls. We always horseback ride on vacation and if that's your thing, Sandy Bottom Stables ride to the garnet mine will go down as one of our favorite experiences with the kids. Louisa's Kitchen was a neat place. We stared our vacation there with breakfast and came full circle and ended there with breakfast when we left. We hope to return to try a different cabin maybe (the others have better yards for the dogs) or we may be attached to Mitchell's for the memories!"

  • A good value for the money

"Very well cared for property, very clean interior with some nice amenities added. Pull-out queen couch was comfortable for my daughter (faces the kitchen), and my bed in the BR was very comfortable, also where the TV is located with Netflix and other access. Angela and Cas were great in being sure whatever our needs were, you only need to ask. You must be able to climb 2 basic sets of steps to the 3rd floor loft loft but do-able. If it were not in December, the little deck outside the door with 2 chairs/table would be a great place to relax morning or night and enjoy the peace. Their dogs are a good security alert on the 2nd floor as you head up, not to pet, just to protect. Very quiet area and loved hearing the roosters crowing from a neighbor. This small but very complete apartment was great and give high recommendation. We stayed there 2 nights going and 2 nights returning from our other Christmas NC destination. Kathy Ware, Nashville TN"
