  • Wonderful place to stay on Lake Lure

"The cottage is comfortable and well appointed. David and Penny are great hosts, available yet unobtrusive. As the first guests of the season we felt a certain responsibility to make sure to leave things as we found them for future guests. The view from the cottage and the boathouse deck is beautiful. A wonderful place to stay, we would gladly recommend this cottage to any small family. The best part to me was how readily they accepted our dog. Penny even got Piper a dish for water since we weren't sure where her dishes were when we first got there. They are very warm and caring people, and we would not hesitate booking this cottage again should the opportunity arise. Reni and Jim McLemore"

  • Extra clean and very nice. Had everything needed for a relaxing week.

"Set up nice for our four legged kids. Had a relaxing week and enjoyed the area. Cabin and porches were extra clean, and had everything we needed during the week.Master bed was very comfortable. Only a few miles to a nice grocery store, and some nice restaurants within 15 minutes. Saw a lot of deer passing by."

  • What a view!!!!

"We spent our July 4th holiday at this lodge and loved every minute of it. Everything was wonderful. The beds were comfortable and there was more than enough room for all of us. We spent most of our time on the top deck just looking at the mountains. We ventured out once so that our grandkids could go fishing. Just a short drive to Morse Park. The owner was more than accommodating and easy to work with. Many restaurants and shops just a short drive into Chimney Rock & Lake Lure. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone that is looking for relaxing and amazing views!"

  • Magnificent! 3 Days of Utopia!

"I have been a VRBO fan for a decade now and with the exception of one rental, I've always been very pleased with my choices. With the rental of Graystone this past weekend, I can tell you that all of my expectations have now been surpassed with our experience at this magnificent home. One of the most notable and outstanding characteristics about the house is the spaciousness of it and the excellent layout of the bedrooms. The home is spectacularly beautiful. The quality of the furniture and accessories is over the top and yet at all times, you feel a sense of total comfort and hominess that makes you feel pampered. Having use of the pontoon boat, the ease of being able to fish right from the dock and the beautiful surroundings were additional bonuses. The home is located within Rumbling Bald Resort which provides amenities such as a golf course, marina, spa, restaurants, putt-putt, tennis and more but honestly we were so in love with the house that we didn't use any of them! We did go into Lake Lure and Chimney Rock which have always been a favorite destination of ours but if we had never left the house, it would have been fine with our group. In closing, I would like to also share with you that working with the owner was the best experience I've ever had with any home owner. Cindy is awesome!! She was timely in her responses to me, answered all my questions, offered her services to help and was a joy to interact with throughout the entire process. I have no doubt that we will be going back again. For my siblings and their families, they were touched and so appreciative of the opportunity for our family get-together in what will now be referred to as our dream vacation home!"
