  • The perfect rental

"Beautiful home with an amazing views of chimney rock! The home was more than I'd imagined and stocked very well including movies, books and all cooking utensils. An added bonus were the canoe and kayaks. Our girls spent hours on the lake in them (every size life jacket available as well). The home was very clean, the only possible negatives are the basement stairs which are quite steep and a hole in the dock to be careful of. Overall a perfect vacation rental for our family!"

  • Peaceful Lake Vacation

"My family and I really enjoyed our stay at 126 Sleeping Bear Lane. The cabin is well stocked and we found that it had everything that we needed, just as advertised. The cabin was clean and completely ready when we arrived. I would recommend to anyone that they consider this cabin for their stay in the Lake Lure area. When we did have a need Peggy was quick to respond, providing excellent customer service. Great location! We enjoyed the many hikes that are in the area, search online for hikes near Lake Lure and enjoy. Restaurants: We enjoyed our meals at Lakeview Restaurant at Rumbling Bald, Legends Pub and Pizzeria. Point of View Restaurant was just okay, nice view, pricey and average food. Our favorites were Larkin's on the Lake and Tree Tops at the Lodge on Lake Lure. Tree Tops was by far the best meal we had. (I would recommend calling for reservations at all restaurants.)"

  • Fabulous get away

"Over the years I have had the pleasure of staying at each of the beautiful accommodations at Four Seasons Cottages. Even though the cottages/cabins may vary from one to the next, the consistencies remain the same: always extremely clean, neat, beautifully decorated, and very well equipped. Did I mention cozy? The area of Lake Lure only adds to the laid back comforting experience I have as I cozy up in one of my stays at Four Seasons Cottages. I look forward to my next visit!!"

  • Don't hesitate; This place is wonderful

"We spent a week at Witts Inn with a group of close friends (and all our kids). This place was perfect for our group. Here's our take. The Lake: Gorgeous! With the small children, we were happy to find that though it was without a beach the initial few feet were relatively shallow. Worked well to monitor the kids in floats. The two ducks that visited us daily and enjoyed the bread the kids fed them were a bonus! We also rented a boat and enjoyed two great days out on the water. Rumbling Bald is a great place to enjoy the beach (and a park for kids), ice cream, and the view. Go. Fishing was also fun. We even caught a few bass. The House: The layout is great! We used every room and all parties were comfortable. With little ones, it was so great to have the washer and dryer as well as a screened in porch with a door that locked. We brought 4 baby gates, but with 3 kids under 2 we really didn't need them. Awesome! We cooked in a lot. Having a gas and charcoal grill was nice. The kitchen had many everyday items down to a food processor and blender. I will say, the pans were tough. They stick, so bring spray or your own. The house is tucked away in a small cove on the lake making it quite peaceful. The lawn out front by the lake is nice too. We brought a few kiddy pools and let the kids play. We also enjoyed some volleyball with the net that was up. We were worried about shade by the lake, but between the boathouse and the wooden deck across from it there was always a place to put a chair. Even though we brought camp chairs, they really were not needed. There's a half dozen down there (plus a table) already. The driveway is quite sloped, so be aware. You can fit 3 cars by the house, but anymore need to go up top."
