  • Beautiful weekend getaway!

"Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with a surprise treat of "goldfish" crackers for our 1 year old (which he loved). The weather was warm so he enjoyed running on the deck. We were so thankful for the gates in each side of the wrap around deck so we knew our little one was safe. We were blown away by the cleanliness of this home. I can't imagine that a pet has ever stayed here! This cabin is close to both Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. We enjoyed the small mountain towns and the scenery. Thanks again for a fantastic trip! We hope to return!"

  • Wonderful

"We loved our stay at River Rose cottage!! It was only my husband and I so we didn't use much of the house. The cottage was cozy, comfortable and clean. Loved being right on the river. My husband caught plenty of trout. We were lucky with absolutely beautiful weather the 5 days we were there so we spent much of our time outside. We would definitely come back again!"

  • Lovely retreat on a mountain lake

"We were looking for a mountain lake retreat and we found it with the Lakefront Mountain Cabin. It was well stocked with all the amenities we wanted. A real plus was being able to walk down the stairs to the dock to swim and canoe every day. The house is at the end of the small mirror lake and the water was clear and warm. The access road to the cabin was flat and easy to navigate. We were also grateful for the easy access from the parking to the front door-what a plus when you are hauling in groceries and luggage. The cabin was close to every thing(the nature trail, the entrance, swimming beach and old swimming hole) while being secluded and peaceful. We also enjoyed the swimming beach nearby as well as the old swimming hole where our old dog got to frolic off leash with other dogs in the water. That was priceless! We only had one minor issue with the AC during the brutally hot spell but the property owner was very prompt in replying and it was quickly fixed. Our only regret was that we didn't book additional days!!! We would stay here again in a "heartbeat"."

  • Excellent & beyond what was advertised!

"What this house boasts is something hard to describe and not easily achieved: an honest family vibe that dates back many years (to 1969, I think). Nothing fancy but absolutely comfortable, workable, and genuine. We rented a pontoon boat for the week and so besides easy access to good restaurants (and a couple of hidden rope swings!), we had many days of looking at other houses on the lake. Poole Hall is unusual, as far as we can tell, because it has a beach of sorts. The newer houses--luxe as they might be--tend to have their sunning areas on top of a boathouse rather than close to the water, maybe because they are built on less desirable sites. To me, that means hot, hot, hot & a long descent to the water. Poole Hall is also situated so that you don't have a sense of other people around you. How cool is that? We are very glad we chose this property, & we hope to come back next year."
