  • Pebble Beach Paradise

"My family and I had a wonderful experience at Pebble Beach. The owner made sure that the pool heat was on a couple days before we arrived, insuring that the water was warm even though the spring temperatures had been very cool. The house was clean and items like furniture and dishware were in good shape. The layout of the home was perfect for entertaining and sharing time together, but there was also space to getaway from everyone and enjoy quiet moments alone. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked. A minor maintenance issues was handled promptly by the owner, Ernie Brown. We felt like we were staying at a loving relative's house instead of a vacation rental. Oh, and the view! We will be back for sure."

  • An Oasis of Comfort & Accommodation

"We just returned from spending Labor Day week in your lovely home. It is an oasis of comfort and accommodation. It is decorated so beautifully. The kitchen is well stocked with everything one could possibly need and it was easy to see that a large group of 12 could easily have a meal together. The master bedroom bed and linens were so comfortable my husband, who typically is an early riser, spent many mornings lingering in bed because he was so comfortable. I love the atmosphere of your home - it was beautiful, inviting, cozy, and warm. I appreciated the special touches, i.e., the framed cross-stitched lighthouse, the happy reminders of what a beach vacation is all about in the wall hangings, the lighthouse stools in the kitchen, and the adorable bedroom with the painted furniture. Sitting in the swinging chair or laying on the hammock became a daily activity after a day on the beach. This was our first time visiting the OBX and it was delightful. This home is located within short walking distance to a private, community beach. The owners have provided enough beach chairs for a large family, beach toys for children, and a beach wagon to assist in carrying whatever necessary to the beach. What a wonderful surprise to see that dogs are permitted on the beach. We are not dog owners but did enjoy watching them have fun in the ocean. Permitting dogs on the beach enhanced the family atmosphere of OBX. There are local shops, a grocery store and restaurants only a mile or so away. Recommend calling restaurants for reservations. Restaurants we enjoyed; Agave Roja (modern Mexican) excellent food and service, Buddhalicious (Thai inspired) Zen atmosphere with delicious food, Lighthouse Bagels (NOT your dense grocery store bagel - how do they make them so light and fabulously delicious?), and The Paper Canoe in Duck (poetry on a plate - exquisite food beautifully presented). Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. We plan to return to the Lark Inn for our next OBX visit."

  • Great Place to Stay and Great Hosts

"This was our first time to OBX, and it will definitely not be our last time. The owner was super nice, and very accommodating. Everything we needed was at the house. It was clean, and smelled nice too. There were two adults and 2 children, and there was plenty of space and rooms for other people if our party would have been larger. The sectional fit our group, but I don't think any more than us to sit on the couch, but with all the TV's in the house, you could watch TV somewhere else (we were too busy enjoying the weather and the short walk to the beach to watch anything). The grocery store and other shopping was really close and convenient. The pool and hot tub were both very clean. Great working washer and dryer, dishwasher, all the kitchen tools you needed including a crockpot, pots and pans, baking utensils, strainers, a blender, and everything you could need. There was great water pressure in the showers, and the water got nice and hot. There was a working computer that was connected to the internet, which would be great for older folks who don't know how to use wifi or if your device is lost/charging. There were quite a bit of steps and the kitchen and dining area are on the third floor, so I would probably discourage anyone with problems going up stairs from renting, only because it would be a lot of work to go all the way up stairs for dinner. However, it really isn't that bad, and there are so many ways to get in and out of the house that it was always easy to yell down to the kids to come up for dinner. The house was also stacked with current DVDs and a great selection of games (we played Apples to Apples). There was also some fun mini golfing, and a small arcade/go-cart track nearby if we wanted to go out at night. We would definitely come back to this house, and it was a really great price too. Thanks for having us!"
