  • Nice and private

"The home was very nice. It was a perfect size for four adults. It had comfortable beds with nice bedding. Very close to Asheville. I would recommend this to others."

  • Cute little cabin was perfect for a mother and daughter and our 2 doggies.

"Cute little cabin was clean and cozy with a pretty view. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything you'd need for cooking. Hiking trails available and near towns of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock."

  • Absolutely wonderful!

"I stayed here for four weeks up until Christmas. I needed a quiet, comfortable home base during my time in Asheville. This beautiful house exceeded my expectations in every way. I knew I would be cooking so I brought my own chef's knife. I have stayed in many rentals over the past decade and never found one with such a well equipped kitchen...until now. Karen has stocked this kitchen with high quality everything, from flatware to cookware, and even knives. The appliances are all new. The kitchen sink is fitted with a water filter that made the really good mountain well water even better, and perfect to drink right from the tap. It made perfect coffee and tea. I did not need to use my water purifier or my own knife! The house is much larger than I expected. The furnishings are new, clean comfortable, and tasteful. The house has a mellow vibe, and was perfect to come home to after the activities of the day. It was up on the side of a mountain, about 10-15 minutes from town (nothing in Asheville is really very far.) It was so peaceful and quiet. The neighborhood is very private, with winding streets and beautiful private homes. I felt very safe there. The house has too many windows to count, and several small decks with chairs and tables to enjoy the gorgeous views. I regret not bringing my binoculars to watch the abundant, flocking birds. The beds were beautifully made for comfortable sleep. There were plenty of natural fiber blankets, an assortment of firm or soft pillows, and luxurious bath towels. The washer and dryer were nicer than my own, and very quiet. I could do laundry while others were sleeping without disturbing anyone. The house was always warm. I especially enjoyed the cast iron gas fireplace in the spacious master suite. Overall, I couldn't have had a better experience staying here. Karen was prompt to respond to any questions I had, and she and her family are lovely people. They were extremely respectful of my privacy, yet always available if I needed something. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I need to return to Asheville. I feel very fortunate to have stumbled across this wonderful property during my search for somewhere to stay for such a long time away from my own home. I think most people would, too. Though there were only two of us, the house is large and comfortable enough for a bigger family. It was perfect for me, as a woman traveling solo, even during the nights I was by myself. I loved it!"
