  • Relaxing vacation at Chalet Quietude!

"We had a great time at the chalet. Was quiet and relaxing. The hot tub was nice to relax before sight seeing around Asheville. One evening we spent playing a fun game of monopoly, that we found there at the chalet. The mornings were great sitting out on the balcony. Enjoying the cool clean air and the beautiful views. An enjoyable experience all around. Thank you for making the chalet a nice home away from home. :-)"

  • The house is amazing, the host is also amazing.

"We really enjoyed staying here. The house is perfect for two people to get away and relax. The host is very friendly and helpful, with lots of good suggestions about what to do in the area. She made us feel like family as soon as we met her. Downtown is a beautiful treelined 30 min walk. If you don't want to walk, Uber will get you to where you want to be. You can stop for lunch along the way at Mile 9, or if you go early at Todd's Tasties for breakfast. Both resturants are great. We'll come back to this house the next time we go to Asheville with just the two of us."

  • Perfect seclusion

"This was just what the doctor ordered - to get away from it all for a week (and definitely could've been longer). The view every morning/evening is SPECTACULAR. The mountain is quiet and beautiful. The house is spacious and remarkably well equipped (lots of linens, kitchen supplies/utensils). Only a 15min drive into Asheville - we often took a cab from the cabin into town, then take an uber/cab back, very simple (~$20 one-way for 6 people). There is SO MUCH to do in Asheville (breweries, restaurants, music EVERYWHERE). Spoke with the owner on the phone after the stay... very pleasant conversation, very warm, and accommodating. For a delicious quick bite nearby, try the burritos at the local Mexican place at the bottom of the hill (Nachos and Beer I think was the name of the place, looks like a diner). Warning: To those of you who live in "flatter" areas, the drive up is a little thrilling. Only "con" I recall - there's only one shower, but it has 2 shower heads, as a nice compensation. I would absolutely recommend a stay and I can't get back there soon enough. You owe it to yourself to be in a state of serenity like this at least once in your life."

  • Like home

"My husband, dog and I spent from mid-October through November at the Mint Cottage. We really enjoyed staying in a place that felt like home. We work remotely, so the house was a perfect size for us. We used the 2nd and 3rd rooms/ bedrooms as offices. We loved the backyard. Even though you are walking distance to downtown Asheville, the backyard makes you feel like you are far from town. The property backs up to a creek and a wooded area. We loved the location. You can walk to the grocery store (there are two!), the Asheville Yoga Center, High Five coffee, and a few restaurants (HomeGrown, Luella's BBQ). It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk to downtown and it is hilly. We loved this area so much that we moved into the house right next door! So, please feel free to say hello if you stay at the Mint Cottage! We are in the bright blue house :)"
