  • A great place for a relaxing getaway.

"With the rest of our family dispersed in different directions for Thanksgiving this year, my husband and I took advantage of the opportunity to spend our first ever "Thanksgiving for two" in the mountains.. This turned out to be the perfect spot. The kitchen is small but well appointed and had everything we needed to pull together a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The living space with a wood burning fireplace was a great place to read or enjoy holiday football on the flat screen TV. Note - the rental agreement says you need to order your own fire wood, which we did, but the message from the owners inside the home appears to be an offer to share their ample supply. The king bed in the master is VERY comfortable, and the separate sitting /dressing area off of the master with a makeup mirror was a very nice touch. Note- unless you like very firm, very thick pillows, consider bringing your own. The expansive front porch is a great place for coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening. We far prefer the Weber kettle charcoal grill available here to the gas grills that come with many rentals, and Dusty's on the edge of Highlands toward Sky Valley has fantastic steaks to throw on the grill. Their frozen biscuits are as good as any home made and make a great breakfast treat, so don't miss those. Moss Hill Cottage was just what we were looking for our Thanksgiving getaway, and we are already checking our calendars to figure out when we can return."

  • Comfy Cottage

"This was our second visit to MiMi's Cottage. Last summer my husband and I were able to spend 2 months. Our time away from home only allowed us to spend 5 nights last week and we wished we had been able to stay and enjoy the beautiful fall scenery for a longer period of time. One of our dear friends from Miami was able to join us and she had a delightful visit. Thank you so much, Jack and Barbara!"

  • Second Time As Great As First

"My husband and I have been meeting friends in Highlands for about five years and this is the only house we have stayed in two times in a row. Before discovering this house with its beautiful views we would stay within a mile of Highlands. The location is not only high up a mountain, but it is close to Highlands and also to Clayton, Ga which also has great shopping and food. The house has a great kitchen to fix breakfast, a great living room with a view to watch the sunset, and a back porch to watch the same sunset. You can have a fire in the fireplace and relax after a busy day and watch some TV. Hiking trails, a zip line, and almost anything else you want to do is close. Dave and his wife are super hosts and if there is a problem they are immediately there to handle the situation. (They live close by) Before your stay Dave emails a list which includes wonderful places to visit and the names and phone numbers of every restaurant worth eating at. You really can't go wrong if you stay here."

  • Beautiful Fall Foliage

"My husband and I brought my parents here for a quiet weekend getaway. We found the place to be quite nice and spacious. We stayed in the bottom unit. However, we were woken up around 3am when the people above us arrived. Also, the family above had several children and were quiet loud. We could hear nothing but running around and stomping most of the weekend. With that being said though, we would still chose to stay here again. The foliage was absolutely beautiful."
