  • Well-appointed large, luxury cabin great for family gatherings! Secluded - Great view!

"Our family recently spent a long weekend celebrating my parent's 75th birthdays at Timber Wolf Lodge. From the beginning Val & Renee were wonderful to reply to our inquiries and accomodate our requests. This large, lovely cabin sits on nearly 2 acres of secluded woodlands. You can't see or hear a house at all, even though it is in a neighborhood. Your view from the large back decks is untouched - - only nature and a great view of the mountains with fabulous sunsets. Wild turkeys greeted us in the drive upon arrival. There was ample room for our extended family to spread out, yet tons of space to seat everyone comfortably around the table (seats 12, but we counted that kitchen could seat 23), around the tv (again 13 spaces on couches, love seats and chairs), or on the deck (approx. 12 rockers on the top deck). There was pool and a multicade arcade game we all enjoyed. The cabin has lots of games and a fully appointed gourmet kitchen that lacks nothing. There was even enough plates, coffee mugs, etc. to go around with our large group. The gathering areas, both up and down, are extremely spacious and accommodating. We loved having coffee on the deck in the mornings and watching the stars in the evening. Both decks are covered, so could be enjoyed even in rain, and the lower deck had room for us to put up an eno hammock and put out corn hole near the hot tub. The only snag we had was that we couldn't get the hot water to work in the lower level king bedroom that had an ensuite bath. However, Val & Renee sent a plumber immediately who remedied the situation (it was something that had to be reset) and the problem was solved. Super quick and polite response from them. They were sweet to allow early checkin and late checkout since we had no-one ahead or directly behind us in the cabin and we were coming for a special event. GREAT accommodations! We would not hesitate to come back. Also, the Greenbrier entrance to the national park is just down the hill from the cabin and is a great, non-tourist area to see the park's beauty. It is a gravel road past a certain point, and it can be narrow. Yet it is well worth the drive in. We took a picnic and ate by the stream. There are several hikes there and you can also rent Polaris 4 wheel jeep-type vehicles to drive up into this entrance. The cabin is close enough in to enjoy the sights and sounds of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge if you want - - yet secluded and private while surrounded by nature."

  • Great location and view

"The cabin is exactly as shown on the pictures. It was perfect for our family of 5, incl 3 boys (8/12/14). The cabin's location is quite great as we were able to reach the towns and do so much outdoor activities. It is a beautiful region and we absolutely loved it. The view is fantastic but I would recommend to cut 3 or 4 small trees around the deck in order to open the view and make it incredible. The Jacuzzi was a nice feature that we all enjoyed every night. We loved the Dollywood firework every night at 9:30. What a treat! The cabin was clean and easy to live in. I would recommend newer pans in the kitchen! The beds were comfortable. The fact that there is a Foosball is quite awesome but it needs some repair. We did not see any bear but I am sure they are around! Be aware that there is no wifi but there is a cable to connect our laptop to the internet. The biggest issue we had was the drive up to the cabin. We have a minivan and it was quite challenging. I am sure it would have been much easier with an SUV. The one time the road was wet, we just had to leave the van at the bottom of the road and wait for the road to dry up in order to be able to "make it". The walk took only 2 min but for the car, it was impossible on wet pavement. We arrived at the cabin at night, in the dark and Google map had a hard time directing us for some reason. Luckily and thankfully Scott helped us via text and we made it. Those roads are INSANE so make sure you drive in low gear and print Scott's directions before you attempt the drive! Scott was fantastic from beginning to end and always available to answer our questions and give us tips on where to eat and what to do. He was so helpful and guided us through the entire rental process. Overall a very good experience that we hope to replicate sometime soon. Would recommend: The Sinks, Crockett's Breakfast Camp, Little River Road, Outdoor Adventures whitewater rafting, The Old Mill, River Rat Tubing. Lauren's Fall was a disappointment because of the crowd but we loved the trail along the river by the Elkmont campground."
