"We had 3 families with kids ranging from 8mo - 10 years old. The pool was deep enough to entertain the older kids and the beach area was great for the little ones (and mamas)! The kids loved see the deer and rabbits in the morning, swimming and exploring the trails around the house in the afternoon and were entertained by the pool table and fire pit in the evening. Overall, it was a fantastic rental for families- wish we could have stayed longer!"

"This was a before school starts road trip with my oldest granddaughter (16). She had heard my stories of Wimberley and the Blue Hole, her choice! The Shepherds Rest was perfect for us..in fact she & I had little down time. From grilling homemade pizza on the gas grill (hint: turn on the gas valve behind the pit, it is hooked up to the house propane tank, genius), enjoying the hot tub after long shopping trips on the square (town only 2-3 min drive) and we had a chance to enjoy some Blue Hole swimming (5 min. drive). The water at the Hole was approx. 60*, crystal clear, but she could not get me to jump from the ropes...lol Played darts, got challenged to a ping pong game, but sorry there were no balls to be found? Took a short walk to the Blanco River (right across street) The house is in excellent shape, bedding comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, good water pressure for showers and plenty of towels. You almost do not need to leave the property. Location, location, location... Customer service is A+, Aaron was very helpful on my only call to ask "where's the propane tank for the grill?" immediate response, even checked on us Saturday...book it 7 enjoy."

"We had a wonderful relaxing stay this past weekend. It's very close to all the shops in Wimberely but feels like the country. The house is very nice with a wonderful deck with rocking chairs and a hammock. Overlooks the creek area behind the house, though you do have to walk down to it to actually see it due to the trees. Really loved the fact that they were not only dog friendly, but dog encouraging! My son brought his catahoula and they provided treats and toys. Creek access was nice and there are kayaks and floats along with tubes. Also, a wonderful outdoor cooking area. Probably the thing we enjoyed the most was feeding and watching the deer each day. (Even the deer feed and birdseed were provided.) If nature is your thing you will love this cabin. We cooked all our meals there and only went to the shops briefly. The hosts literally thought of everything. Everything is labeled very well and so it's easy to find what you need. There were several board games as well if you enjoy that. Really love the high ceilings and windows in the living area. A very nice relaxing place to get away and enjoy nature. Really enjoyed ourselves."
